Nightwatch Chaos NS59v2 is scary!

I kept my order which I’d already paid. I love buying from Neal and I’m not in any particular hurry

12 sold is probably a sales tactic that some online stores have :weary:

According to my hometown dealer who is also my neighbor and an authorized Molicel dealer… there are NO grade “A” P45B cells available.

Until Molicel lets him know that there are, he has no interest in getting or selling lower grade batteries.

Nikon may very well have P45B…but they’re not grade A! I wouldn’t want them.

Only 7 sold today; I feel better already.

It’s ok. When you love something (something being 31k lumens for less than 100 bucks), a lot can be forgiven  . The problem is the chance of this light getting to LA on time to be my great Xmas self-gift is in clear danger.

I don’t understand why this is the only light or this is the only brand that is affected by a supply shortage.

I think virtually all the lights are readily available except this brand.

Am I missing something?

It’s affected a lot of brands and is still affecting a lot of component distributors. It was only recently that Lumintop was able to start getting what they wanted/needed (evidenced by that temporary dumbing down of the FW3A driver for awhile). The shortages seem to have really knocked some brands harder….On The Road and WildTrail come to mind and I think both are still struggling. On top of chain and labor issues now there are the restrictions on chips and such, which has shaken up manufacturing queues and priorities a lot, so we’ll see what happens in our little niche I guess.

From Neal: “still not available, we are locked down, so the manufacturer can’t ship the lights to me now.”

I am starting to look for Xmas self-gift alternate on Amazon.

Ah, that’s tough.

Yep very disappointing considering my other Xmas wish the new Convoy S21D with USB-C and side-switch is still MIA and probably won’t make it in time either.

However I think I found a great alternate self-gift in my hunt for a SFN55 light (this LED intrigues me), Lumintop D3 . I saw this light on Neals Gadget at $72 before discount but while looking around I found an amazing Black Friday deal at half off for 36 bucks on Aliexpress from no less than Lumintop official store. I am posting this now because I think the deal expires in a couple days and I don’t think we will see it again for a long time. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256804035439583.html?spm=a2g0o.order_list.0.0.21ef1802qt8OGF&gatewayAdapt=glo2usa&\_randl_shipto=US.

I am trying to clarify with seller but it seems you would only get BOTH tubes , 26800 tube and 21700 tube, if you order the one without battery. This is another one of these latest monster LED and I expect a Battle Royale between this and my Wurkkos TS30S with SBT90.2.

OT again sorry Tim  . Here is a great review on 1 lumen: Lumintop D3 flashlight review | 2600 lumens flashlight | 1Lumen.com
“The beam is nice, and the OP reflector helps smooth out the beam and the tint distribution is pretty uniform. It’s pretty clean, with a large hot spot with a bright diffuse spill and lots of side illumination. Imagine an XHP70.2 with a smaller hotspot and no ugly tint shift. This is an excellent general purpose, bumping-around beam. It is a bit green at low settings on white walls, but no complaints here.”

Why my interest? I love the tremendous output of Cree XHP70 but allergic to the green monster, so I have much hope and can’t wait to get my hands on this baby. If you order don’t forget the $3 Aliexpress coupon.

The light seems to tick all the boxes for me: brightness, throw, side switch, USB-C charging, small size, Anduril. I want to get both battery tubes so I ordered the one without battery. May try 26800 from illumn for $10 (need 26800 for 5000 lm 450 m throw btw), but good to have 21700 as backup. It’s a small light so extreme brightness would just hasten defeat anyway.

Addendum 11/27 - From Lumintop: good news for replacement toy while waiting for Nightwatch Chaos. Curiously enough doesn’t seem like the transport center is in lock down. The 1/2 off sale ends in 11/29 btw.
“Hi the D3 you can use 26680 and 21700 both
we will ship out tomorrow, in Monday, not delay here in China.”

No worries. I love 26800 lights

Table I found from Nightwatch @ 1thedeals website. Lumen density = max lumens/luminous area; I assume an indication of throw (?). Check out the number for SBT90.2, why the Wurkkos throws 1 km.

Of note Chaos Version 1 used SFQ55 for 28000 lm spec, whereas this version 2 uses SFQ60 for an increase to 32000 lm. I like the progression. :+1:

I’m guessing the change to larger LEDs was to stop them burning up.

There’s a new Nightwatch light coming next year called the NA76V1. It is a 3x21700 light with 6x SFN55.3 and is supposed to output 40000lm though that seems a bit much. 35000lm seems more realistic.

When the Astrolux EC06 with 3-21700’s and 6-XHP50’s came out I thought give it a month and we’ll have 6-XHP70’s. Took a bit longer but this looks like it. Th558 any pictures or other post on this NA76V1?

Good point. I read about the smoke and was wondering why even more output. Wasn’t paying attention to the difference in the LEDS’ luminous areas.

Any specs, picture, info on NA76V1 please post. Very interesting although I prefer the smaller handle of Chaos over a soda-can handle.

That’s all the info I have for the NA76V1. It was supposed to be released this month but has been delayed due to covid in China. There is also an NI03S which I’m guessing is an updated NI03.

Thanks for the interesting info. I actually have a Lumintop D3 coming that has the same LED as NI023 (SFN55.2). I prefer the larger NI03 host but it’s also out of stock. I wonder what change Nightwatch is planning for NI03S?

Does anyone know exactly how long the provided Lishen button top cell is? Will it fit in an Lii-500?

Nealsgadget has a pretty good 35% discount code —->“Christmas”. Nightwatch Chaos of course still not available but this brings the cost of HaikeLite HK05 all the way down to $71!. Specs: 5*SFN60 30000lm 1000m Thrower Flood LED Flashlight

I couldn’t resist and actually prefer the USB charging of this light so I went for the 5000k version. Now the one problem with this light is it needs button top; and where do you find high current capacity button top? Previous review mentioned raised top Molicel P42A that would work. At any rate I decided to order the button top battery offered - which seems very expensive but better with the discount.

I am going to ask him which battery it is.

Is that code for everything?
