That’s what I heard as well. I’ll know on the 26th when it will be delivered. I got on sale for $139.99 free shipping and no tax from Sweetwater.com. I buy all my basses, amps, etc from them. I love my salesperson Andrew Plassman. He always gives me the best price on non-sale items.
So, today I went to Home Depot and bought the bits and pieces to put shelves on the wall for my now 2 Harmon Kardon Onyx Studio 4 speakers… I don’t trend towards the conventional, so I bought 2 sets of 2 of the clamp style mounts for glass shelves, and instead of glass shelves I bought 2 12x12 black granite floor tiles. Mounted em, have the speakers on the wall and paired in stereo, man they sound nice! I may cut about 3” off the front side to make the tiles 9 x 12 so they don’t stick out so far and are more tailored to the size of the Onyx 4 speakers, but not today… Listening to Pink Floyd, haven’t heard em like this in quite a while! Love it!
Got my Tascam DR-40 along with a pair of Tascam TH-02 headphones. The combo works great for recording my bass. The headphones were a steal at $15.31 from Amazon. They are not audiophile quality, but they are more than adequate for this purpose.
I received my Amazon second gen Echo today. I’m very impressed with its function. While it’s built-in speaker isn’t what I’d call great for music, it’s more than good enough for news, weather, etc. I will be upgrading my thermostats, light dimmer switches, etc that are compatible with the Echo in the near future.
I have been looking for that, but it turns out, our multifunction home cinema set we use for radio/audio doesn’t even have a 3,5mm plug.
Now i just use an ordinary Chromecast with HDMI for audio/spotify :person_facepalming:
Does your home theater receiver not have an optical / toslink input? That’s what I use with Chromecast Audio. See the photo of the cable I posted a few posts earlier.
Ouch, i could have used Toslink, if only i knew the Chromecast supported it. I think i didn’t do in depth research, i thought it only supported analog audio
Well, the HDMI is working fine for two years already.
Since Philips electronics is taken over by the Chinese, their product quality went down the drain.
Actually, i hate the thing, sometimes i would like to turn it on or off by using the on/off button, which half of the time doesn’t work. Is that too much asked, that the on/off button works? The only solution is to use the remote when that happens.
But my wife bought it, because of the looks…
Remote outlets are neat.
I’m on a more basic level though. IR remote, power outlets on the LR PC and TV. Change bios setting to AC power to ON and it’ll boot automagicly. Same on BR TV/PC. Got a light in each room too on the remote outlets and because my Samsung B&W Laser printer sucks too much power, even off, I have it on a power outlet too.
Just dont hit the wrong button, PC wont be happy but SSD is more tolerant. Also remote will turn devices on downstairs if you hit the wrong button too.
Package was like $25 with 2 remotes and 5 outlet adapters.
I’m using mine to power table lamps with 10 watt (60 watt equivalent) LED light bulbs. I would never connect my laser printers to one of these. They would probably catch fire!
BTW, both of my Brother laser printers are energy star rated. I think they only draw a couple of watts in the standby mode. Not a big deal. That said, with all my electronics my balanced electric bill is $79.00 a month.
Nice. My wife picked up 4 similar ones last year. We use them to control lamps as well as some Christmas lights. She made me set up a Google routine so that when our kid says “OK, Google, start Christmas” all the Christmas lights would come on and Christmas music would start playing. Thankfully, that’s over now.
Very cool Pete. I’ll get another one to control my Christmas lights as well. The command will be Alexa, turn on Christmas lights. Or I can set a schedule. I’m new to this. It’s pretty exciting!
