yes, a scabbard for a Shockwave.
Just received some Copper Moon coffee.
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0015IS26U/
Iāve had Sinatra coffee before, itās pretty good. Tastes a bit Starbucky. Liked the first mug, will keep going and see if I actually like it for what it is, or just because itās ādifferentā.
I was getting Brooklyn Coffeehouse coffee (house blend, brazilian santos, etc.), and liked that, but the price jumped a full 33% in the past month or two. Ouch.
So I saw this Copper Moon come up, figured Iād try it, and itās pretty good so far.
Grinds well, isnāt too oily.
Home roaster hereā¦ 5lbs for $32 shipped is really cheap. There are good online roasters but prices starts at 2x that. What is the roast date? Dark/oily?
Looked, didnāt see nuttinā. Just says ābest if used before 11/20/2022ā on a sticker.
Not too oily. When I got some dark italian roast from BC, it was so oily that I had to wipe down my grinder after each use. Pretty nasty.
Their house-blend and brazilian santos is pretty good.
This is my first foray into CM coffee, so Iāll be having another bucket in a bit. Gotta run out and get some catfood for the critters, first.
Some nice tape right there. I scored a couple rolls of scotch tape the other day. 3/4ā no less
Okay, just made bucket #2. Nice taste, not pinchy like Starbux, mild even though I made it a mite powerful.
Think Iāll get it again, or at least change off between CM and BC for variety.
thanks for bringing up coffee.
is there another thread about long-term storage of coffee?
obviously, i have not been able to find oneā¦ā¦anywayā¦ā¦
if you have some storage ideas, i would appreciate a post about it.
three parameters:
- long-term means more than 3 years.
- coffee means coffee. not beans or any other form.
- no instant. it seemingly has infinity as a life-span.
Vacuum-packed, and frozen.
Some brands (Folgers?) come in those bricks that turn to moosh once you puncturate them and let the air in.
LB;
Used to be quite fond of Sumatra, and also Kenya. Rich and no aftertaste bitters. Also, creams well in the machine. Pricey though so had to change to a more home mix of Napolitan and Columbian dark roast. Unfortunately, sometimes tastes like been dwelling in some damp basement for ages ā subjective description but you get the idea. Already had some beans roasted from a wet cargo hold and must have mildewed. The fellow who imported the bean sacks figured once cooked shouldnāt be noticeable. Ha!
Mmmmm. After I opened a bag of BC which was quite good at first, I got those āravioliā packets from work, and was busting āem open and using them for a few months (yeah, I got a lot).
When I went back to the BC, it had an eerie stank, and an āoffā taste. I surmised mold, as all it takes is a few spores and they grow like stink on a monkey.
The batch was split into separate glass jars with plastic lids, but that damned waxpaper that mightāve retained some water when I washed āem, so yeah, spores + water + food = growth.
Tossed a lot of the BC, rather individual jarsā worth that stank worse than others. After comparing with the newer bag of BC, yeah, world of difference, so I was no doubt drinking partially-moldy coffee.
AFAIK Illy uses nitrogen inside their can to create oxygen-less container.
Surely it will vanish as we opened the can/container.
To keep inline with the thread, my recent received packages are coffee too.
8 lbs coffee. Free to me. Well, sort of. We moved and I gave a couple of cords of cut, split and seasoned pine firewood to someone as we have nothing to burn firewood at in the new place. I didnāt want any payment, so they sent me some of the coffee I use.
Well, thatās worth a bit. In my parts $36 / kg. By the time you have used it up, the price will have risen. Enjoy and live long.
Unfor a āuse byā date is not useful at all and I would never purchase coffee w/out a āroasted onā date.
Anything more than 1 week old I wouldnāt buy, not when you can order fresh roasted coffee online
for ~$60+/5lb shipped when Iām either too lazy to roast or weather not permitting.
For storage of fresh roasted coffeeā¦ Split them in jars in the freezer and for me still good after 12 months.
Can use them straight out of the freezer or thaw for a few hours.
To a place with a bigger wood shopā¦?
Square deal. 8 pounds of coffee for 8 pounds of sweat lost.
Take some pinon coffee with you!
Received some Bntechgo red and black silicone wire in 18, 20 and 22awg.
More or less same size shop workspace. Into smallish town, out of forest, myriad reasons.
thanks for all the coffee storage information.
back to the subjectā¦.
Beretta had a sale
so i ordered two.
