I was actually mistaken earlier, I remembered 2400 lumens but seems this LED was actually making almost 2600 lumens @ 2.5A from a cold start.
It should be fairly close to what the final light will come with. We are aiming for 3D but if a higher bin can be found in a 3A tint we are open to that as well.
It will be the highest bin that lumintop can get for sure.
I just might toss in that 90CRI C4 emitter for the heck of it, I have a feeling that to the human eye it will throw a similar distance but look better.
Well I already are consided as a nerd, but boy today I am called out as a nerd. I showed some of my flashlight to my friend and sold/gave away some flashlight today without me making any money. Sold 4 liitikola one bay charger, 4 convoy s2+ flashlight, 4 blf a6. And had a lot of other flashlight to show them. They think I am a super nerd witch is fine, but I also told them It’s not that expensive if you compare to their and my/their drinking habit.
Problem is I like them but they think I am nerd, i.e. I am a Nerd but a proud one.
They still wanted to buy flashlight from me but they askey why ? I said I had a fetish for flashlight Beyond normal behavior and like it. What do you nerds say
+1, I'd mark the post rude if it wasn't for all the disclaimers and clearly uninformed views. Yep, it's a big thread but it's no excuse to make assumptions and jump to conclusions.
Something went the wrong way because of The Miller's joke (?). I'm not into circuit design, no time for such thing in my life right now. There already are some ultra-low voltage boost drivers, though most are low efficiency and poorly featured. Seems a tricky science and any design needs to go under viability evaluation, not to say board real state is usually at a premium.
Certain designs do 2S NiMH boost nicely, maybe some of these could be refined with a cross-coupled switched capacitors stage to drive leds at 5-6W from 1S NiMH efficiently all the way down to 0.9V.
But hey, if you're dreaming with affordable available parts in this regard it will more than probably require some community driven new custom design manufacturer(s) can produce in bulk. Nothing really new here.
3 new members, welcome to BLF!
Will update the list later
Barkuti ypu came off pretty strong with what seemed a lot of critique in regards to the driver, so yeah I tried to reply constructive but in a way did say “can do it better, cool go ahead, I’ll be cheering. If you can’t do it better, why come off so strong and seemingly negative on a driver that shows about the same regulation as ” professional made” ones having firmware that surpasses everything currently for sale except the Emisar lights and Q8?
