I feel the same way. All the talk about making it a better general purpose light is kind of ridiculous to me. It’s the giga THROWER.

Yeah its way too big for that I’m surprised with the sheer size of the light people are trying to make it a multi purpose light its actually kinda funny…

Actually, with the size of the head, a diffuser will likely be larger than the D4 or any other pocket flooder with similar lumens, so why not just carry one of those around?

Indeed but don’t forget about 2.5x the lumens.

It would be a very interesting light, which is why I plan to mod one of these prototypes as soon as we are done with them.

I’m guessing the 70.2 would be the better choice over the 70 to get a smoother beam pattern and less donut hole shape.

Still, 2.5A at 12v is equavelant to 5A at 6v. That’s only about 4,000 lumen. That’s not 250% more, it’s only 60% more lumens.

If you want to push that 70.2 really hard you will need to do a driver swap. Is this what your planning?

Here are some wall shots for comparison. They are not very good but shows the tint ok.

These are the only stock lights I own, this one is a astrolux S2 (Aka, blf A6) in the 5A tint flavor.

The A6 is a bit yellower and the beam has much more tint shift in it. Like I said before, the V2 looks like a small sun. Particularly as you turn the brightness up.

This is a solarforce P6 with a CW emitter for comparison.

Why are so many people trying to make a light thats been talked about and thought about for years designed and redisgned, planned and engineered for throw,….a damn flood light? Don’t you think theres enough of those? For a decent combo light get yourself a Convoy L6 or a Maglight. For a good flooder get a Olight X7 or the new one from Acebeam or even a nice BLF Q8. There are SO many lights made for flood or some combo of both. This is designed to light a deer up a mile away. Thats what its made to do. You wanna take pictures at night get a flood light of some sort. This isn’t for taking photos (unless from way far away) and its not for lighting up a small areas right in front of you or walking your dog at night. If thats what you want then this isn’t the light for you. This is purpose built to out throw some of the brightest thrower lights on the market. This is for people with large properties that wanna be able to see if theres anyone out there at night or spot animals from a huge distance. For signaling aircraft (if you work at an airport) or on the water as a marine light to scan for shore. This isn’t a lantern its for distances and that’s what it does. Its about time someone made a good thrower light. People need to think about their needs and whats a good light choice for them. Just because some guy on YouTube in a viral video says to buy it doesn’t mean you should. I had to make up my mind too but I always liked thrower lights better. They can hit trees and light up a field 600 meters away. Flood lights have good benifits but do a little research just don’t buy any light.

All you have to do is post in this thread that you want to be included and it will be done. The Miller updates the list every few days.

Payment details are not set. Once production starts and it gets close to buying time you will get a PM telling you all the details. What store to go to and what special code to enter to get the discounted price, etc… We may even need to do a small deposit before that. It’s still not known.

So for now we wait.
