You were 100% correct…. … I loved it!! . … :+1:
I think there’s something to investigate here…. Well if Lumintop sells the GT with batteries for $265, I paid $222.
I’m confused…. why did you have to pay $222??
BoxCarWillie I have just realized what you did there. Yes I am a little slow sometimes, and Yes I approve. Teacher that little slip of the tongue (or finger since we are typing) has led to a wealth of humorous comments. Immature? Maybe. Funny? For me definitely! We have to inject a little levity here sometimes.
Well at least you got it! LOL… Some never will :person_facepalming:
Anyhow, it’s nice to have a little fun here and helps to cool some tension on this looooooooong thread! But, I have a good feeling that more tension is building with Lumintop selling “our” GT’s to the public now! :money_mouth_face:

I think he may be talking about the extra customs fees now as they are saying the Gt’s with batteries are valued at more than the initial $25 tag that was set by Lumintop.

For the record, he would still have to pay those fees if he purchased it at $265. So it would $315 for him.
I don’t expect a reply about all of this till tomorrow, so everyone hold your horses and wait and see what happens.

Oh, OK. That is not part of the purchase price though…
Sad as it is, that was just unlucky for him.
How much custom fees/import duties would have to be paid on a purchase price of $265 ??
Someone was asking about DHL declared values a while ago… but I can’t find fhe post.
But I can verify what it was on three shipments to the USA.
- My cousins / NO batteries / $25
- My two / both WITH batteries / $30 each
Ah, limited… Dang
LloydV: shanefletch:Just received mine Batteries included.

Selected DHL, local courier was TNT.
Did you get any notice beforehand, or did it just appear on your doorstep?

About $100 at 21% tax and dhl service cost, when the full $265 would be declared

“Slip of the finger”?? … I think not……
And below… I present you with the rest of the story. . . .
There might be a slight, very slight; difference. Tom E did some testing on this but I can’t find it right now. If I do I will post a link to it. But IIRC, the difference was very slight. Another thing to consider is all boobs are not created equal. Some like tiny boobs while others prefer large… some even solder giant boobs on their cells. I think this boils down to personal preference or either that is just how theirs turned out. Either way…. I’m sure your boobs will be more than adequate. …

kntx:Is there any issue with the solder boobs on my cells comparing em with the button top’s ? I mean resistance, throw etc

I’ll try to find a link to Tom’s post on batteries & post the link.

that could be the explanation. I’ve learned my lesson. GB isn’t my cup of tea. I’ve had something else in mind. But I hold my horses, as I don’t want to make things worse. And I respect the team that did so much work to get things together. At least the GT is a very good product.
At this point, I say Cheers to Team GT! :+1:
Jeers to Lumintop for selling our GT’s to the public now! :rage:
And for the rest of us Flashaholics here, Beers to all waiting for the GT to arrive!

From post 16529.
The default value for the DHL packages is $25 USD.
The default value of each registered mail package is $14.99 USD.
The Google document in post #1 (Customs Declaration Survey) is for people who would like to set their own values on their own packages.
Are you saying that the DHL package with batteries has a $5 higher declared value than without batteries?
If so, that’s new to me. I don’t think it was discussed.
It may also be why Bozlight29’s package said $30 instead of $25. He asked for it to be $22, but I’m guessing there was a mix up and Neal never adjusted it. So it was sent at this different default value of $30.

And your right… the GT is a very good product.
EDIT——> useless post deleted!!! Carry on! Hope everyone does the same!

Yes sir, that is exactly what I am saying. . … :+1: . (about the three I can personally verify)
Cousins NO batteries $25
My two WITH batteries $30 each
All three DHL to USA.
I am wondering if the direct Lumintop Sales have a better reflector than the GB sale…
