Are there any updates as to when the last batch of 50 will be dispatched? CNY has been over so I am curious.

I’m wondering when the first batch of 50 will be sent. #6 on the list, still nothing, no replies from Neal since 29 Dec. Paid in full on 2 Dec.

The final 50 orders should ship out this week.

Texas ace, do you maybe have any update from LT, Neal regarding reflectors. Did LT get reflectors last week?

Can production of GT restart in this week? This means shipping will be possible end of this week.

I just got a quick message that the reflectors are set to be delivered this week and they hope to have the final 50 orders shipped out by the end of the week.

Then we will start tracking down any outstanding issues and getting them sorted out.

After all of that is taken care of we will send out the next batch of PM’s.

The next batch of PM’s looks like it will be delayed for awhile until the lawsuit issue is figured out. Neal can’t use his paypal right now so there is no way to get the payments.

Knowing paypal, I would not be surprised if it is near the end of the month before this is sorted out sadly.

whoa. I’ve sat quietly and ignored most of the drama, expecting unexpected delays, unavoidable occurrences, and things that generally don’t go according to plan, as part and parcel of participating in a group buy.

but this lawsuit should not be a delaying issue for GT payment and fulfillment. Bag purchases, sure, but not the light. I hope Neal gets it worked out, but i doubt he only has one payment account, and i’m sure Neal’s is not the only PayPal account on the GT team, and THIS is not an acceptable reason for a delay. There’s LOTS of ways for the next set of list people to make payment when the time comes. Stopping everything because one person’s PayPal account is frozen is, sorry, not really a valid excuse for further delay, especially since we know PayPal disputes are often of an undetermined duration, and there’s no guarantee that Neal will have a favorable outcome and the account in question will be unfrozen any time soon, if ever.

I didn’t say we are stopping everything just because of that, the paypal account is just another issue.

From experience trying to go around a paypal suspension is NOT a good idea. It generally leads to having all your accounts suspended until they decide what to do with you.

So he does need to sort some things out before he can take anymore payments.

That said if everything else was ready to go and only the paypal account issue was left, we would find another option for accepting payments. It is simply not worth worrying about at this point as there are several other things to take care of first.

Now we need someone who prints centering-pieces to fit the reflector.
And we need a group buy for the emitters to lower the costs of it. Because we only need the bare LED.

It is not possible to buy a bare LED, they all come factory mounted to MCPCBs.
Even if you did get a bare LED it would not fit on any MCPCB and you would need to get one custom made, costing even more.
The majority of the CFT90 cost is the LED die, not the piece of copper it comes attached to, you would not save any money by buying a bare LED.

Of cause. I mean without heatsink and other unneeded package contents.

Yep you can bypass all springs, even the center spring with out losing the motion to make contact with the other carrier and driver contact.

Melt down…

Added brass center screws… because I had them laying around doing nothing…

Just keep in mind, you want to keep the range of motion in the center contact springs so there will be no issues making contact, the GT could bottom out the center contacts when the battery tube is tightened, the carriers also have to make ground between the carriers and the driver board, if you do the bypass wrong and the contacts are too tall, you will not make ground.

Stick to 12v emitters?

Kawiboys situation is pretty unique with a fet driver and 6v emitter from a Lumintop SD75.

Still, if I were gonna do this conversion I would not use braided copper as I’ve burned through that at 18A before (maybe get the widest, thickest braid you can?). Would regular copper wire work?

You can send “Neal” a message on here, hopefully he gets back to you soon.

Martin sent out an email to everyone in the GB about a week ago asking if anyone had problems. Reply to that with your problem and it will get added to the list of issues Neal needs to take care of.

Flat top don’t work. You can always add a solder blob to raise the positive contact, though.

This is the gap which provides polarity protection.
