Here's one from the good ole Grateful Dead. This is classic Jerry. The song has a nice bluesy undertone, but it isn't a blues. And the tempo is right up there with Garcia's slowest. In fact, it the tempo is so slow, it's almost a dead-stop!
Rober Hunter provides a fine lyric: "All of my friends come to see me last night, I was laying in my bed and dying..." See the full lyric at The Annotated Grateful Dead Lyrics.
This is my generation’s music. I’ve seen so many of these bands live including Deep Purple. To be honest, I’m not a fan of the music scene today. Thankfully I have a large LP and CD collection of classic rock with all my favorites.
BTW, I’m also into Jazz, Reggae, Funk, 60’s Motown, and Blues
If you’re in to Reggae, check out Artist: The Mighty Sparrow….album “Knock Dem Down” absolute favorite of mine. Caution: Album will make you DRINK BLENDED pitchers and pitchers of CoConut RUM slings, punch, etc… You’ll be hoarse next morn from singin’ along with Sparrow all night…LMAO
That’s Calypso music. I like it, but I don’t have any in my collection unfotunately. I forgot to mention I’m also into Ska. That was big in the 90’s, but not so much anymore. My close friend still has a Ska band called the Scofflaws. They have several CD’s out. They were popular on the east coast back then. He’s a sample song they did.
Reggae, Calypso…ya gotta admit hard not to have a good time when you CRANK EM UP !
Back in the 70’s two dudes from Canary Islands were here working local off shore Oil platforms. They lilved and breathed The MightySparrow. They lent me their LP and I recorded it to cassette. Yeh, cassette, Dinosaur Days of reel to reel. Although I recorded it on a Nakamichi 600 deck…LOL
