POCKET ROCKET... My XinTD arrived today.

Got any pics? First I’ve heard of this one.

Haterade,

What you said to agent80 about “looking big in pics” is actually a good point. That was what happened to me… I avoided buying a C8 for a long time because all of the pics (maybe purposely) made them look huge, or maybe had a huge head. But then, I saw a pic of one where someone had it in his hand, and went “that’s actually pretty reasonable size!” and then got one, and by now I have 7 (got another one yesterday).

I guess that the sellers think that if they make a like look gigantic, especially the head, people wil think it’s more powerful, but it’s counter-productive if you’re looking for an EDC…

BTW, I have both the lightmalls and the Kaidomain C12s. Unfortunately, I can’t remember which is which :(…

The shape of their beams on a white wall looks about the same, but one is slightly brighter and more yellow than the other (again, not sure which one though :(!)…

Sure they look exact the same dimensions but the KDC8 has no white lettering designating what it is .could you please post the link so I can post pictures from my galaxy SIII thanks ill be happy to post and if in knew how a couple of bea m shots they to me seem alsmost identical and I have read where Tom E stated that the xml2’s in a stock set up on aluminum sink pads aren’t much of a benefit untill you mount on a copper sink pad just wondering if any one else has tried the KDC8XML2-U2 ?

A textured reflector helps blend the hotspot and spill on a C-8, it’s close to a necessity for what I need…and I mostly end up running on low, otherwise it can be too bright.

A C-8 fits nicely in a front jeans pocket with the head on top about an inch outside of the pocket. The large head holds the light upright and a clip is not necessary…works even better with tight jeans, I guess, but …

Maybe something like this would be more suitable for your interpretation off a pocket rocket?

+1 LOL

So now you are gonna harp on “skinny jeans”!I’m really hurt by that Dale….do I have to send you pictures? >)

PLEASE DON’T

Here I go trying to post pictures , sorry in advance as the pictures were taken with my Galaxy III!C8 1! !C8 2! C8 3 the one on the right is the lightmalls C8XMLU3 and the one on the right is the Kaidomain KDC8XL2-U2 sorry I don’t know how to download pictures I took .I really wanted to get some feedback on KDC8XML2-U2 compared to other C8s

congrats. Finally u made the leap to buy this! I’m pretty happy with my xintd c8 purchase myself.

dale, i also have the lightmalls c12 xml2, its pretty bright also, but the lightmalls c8xml2 still wins….noticably with eyes too.

i have the old kd c8 with t6, and that was a super thrower, but the lightmalls c8 wins still.
i ordered the kd xml2 c8 last week, should be here soon, ill let you guys know which is the king of c8’s.

but for sure, the xintd is king of c8’s in terms of build quality

Silly question. How can you compare output from two similar lights where one is regulated at 2.8 amps and one is direct drive?

you can’t. … Other than that one will run nicely for longer, on most cells and one could fry its emitter with the wrong choice of cells and will likely suffer plenty of heat sag.

I have a few C8’s, but not the XINTD. Still no direct comparison of the V4 to the V3. I suspect V4 is a noticeable improvement in output. Other than that, probably identical.

For some reason, the LM C8 seem to do a shade better than your average C8 or even a XinTD when equally mod'ed to an over-driven regulated Nanjg at 3.85A, SinkPAD/XM-L2 U2. I dunno, but I have measured results that show it better in lumens and throw, and so does rdrfronty - I did a mod'ed C8 pill for him and he tried it in a couple of C8 hosts.

But when you are dealing with stock lights, the "direct drive" C8's compared to a 2.8A light like the XinTD is a tough comparison. So for the buyer who is keeping it stock, they will see better output in the direct drive, with all the negative side effects though (over heating, quick battery drain, etc.) - and don't use a Samsung 20R or AW IMR, or anything with low resistance, or else poof! I got this little UF-M6 light (stock) and tried a Samsung 20R in it over the weekend - tailcap measurement went up over 6 amps. Now maybe with the tailcap on, you lose a lot throught the switch and tailcap spring, but I wouldn't take the chance.

I bought the LM C8 originally because of it's bright output from posted reviews, but it turned out as a host for a regulated driver, it's quite good - same thing could be said of the original HD 2010 with the East-092 direct drive driver.

Thank you iam curious as heck I tried downloading pictures with no luck I really like my lightmalls C8LU3 and my newer KDC8XML2 and I wanted to know others opinions so please post or even pm as I don’t have enough experience to know how these compare to other C8s.

brightness can be kind of tricky. what about throw? does the Lightmalls XML2 C12 or C8 throw better?

yes the c8 throws further and is brighter than the c12

Can it run on 2xCR123 (6v)? Looks like a cool little light….
