Possibly good deal on black Trustfire 18650

No protection circuit on the bottom

No hologram and different flame colours

as

My hobby charger has not arrived yet from hong kong so I cant measure the capacity.

Not to insult but by stating they are real and coming from DX one have to laugh even a little bit. :)

-.- these - DX - are the real trustfire 2400. Never had a bad cell from DX (trustfire 2400). I know that they are not of the best quality but the have a protection circuit and a capacity of min. 2200 and are not fake. Sanyo 2600 are 4.5€ each but without any protection circuit.

They Are NOT FAKE here is a link to the same product.

and protected

As you can see the unprotected ones do not have the hologram.

Unprotected = No hologram

Protected = hologram

I wish some of you would do some research before claiming that they are fake and that only DX sells the real items.

This seller has a good record on ebay. We should encourage good sellers.

We not not want him to increase his prices to the level of other sellers. He may just double the price in future. This is not what we want

The thing is that, it is not protected. Do not forget that seller just sells, the moral of the story is that don't jump to conclusions without facts.

Please do research before buying the products.

I agree. But and there is always one BUT! We paid (a ridicolous sum i must agree) for protected cells. Still an awesome bargain if they are not as it turned out to be the case.

I would have rather paid a bit more for the protection but if the cells are good they are still an absolute bargain at that price. Hell even good firecrackers cost more. :P

how2, what are you talking about? Are you aware the two QCG pages show exactly the same items (both protected 18650!)? I knew the flame trustfires also exist as unprotected, but that was out of question.

The flames look odd on the ebay ones and I'm convinced that all genuine trustfire flame 18650s would have an hologram, both protected and not.

Fakes? Probably!

I am not complaining, because they where really cheap, but again comparing the ones that I received with these:

http://www.qualitychinagoods.com/trustfire-18650-2400mah-batterytr2400u-p-1439.html

They are not the same at least the wrapping is different, the colours and even the shape of the flames printed.

Also the positive pole in these from ebay is rounded and the others have a flat pole.

It is possible that trustfire changed some of the components and they are genuine, I dont know, all I'm saying is that they are different from all the other pictures that i've seen.

Phlowcus You really cannot tell from the pics in QCG that they are protected or not!

The pics in QCG look to me like unprotected and protected batteries. I went to Trustfire site and again you really cannot tell the difference as they use the same pics for protected and unprotected.

So no one can categorically state that these are fakes without proof.

Well, If we had bought somewhere in China for a price even lower than normally I would be pretty sure these are fakes. :D

There is no point of selling fakes at a lower price. Don't forget the mark up on flash lights are probably 3 times and the mark up on batteries and case etc is 5 times.

As BOB were selling the Trustfire X6 for $47 then increased it to $155 once they realised the mistake.

Looking at the other batteries this guy on eBay sells, I'm pretty sure these are fakes. He sells nothing but no-name stuff.

Maybe we could settle this problem ones and forever if we could persuade Thoth to remove

the wrappingfoil from one of his batteries to see if there is a pcb at the negative end.

To do this look here: http://www.lygte-info.dk/info/battery%20protection.html

The seller is sending out Unprotected batteries, there is not need to unwrap the battery.

The question is whether it's real or fake.

OK. That may well be very difficult, as there seems to be many opinions on

where you get the "real" ones.

You said the unprotected are without hologram. Take a look at these unprotected:

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24979 They are with hologram!

Wait until other people get it and let them test it.

Trustfire site has little information but several 18650 batteries which are flame and black.

At the moment cannot say they are fake or not, by pics alone.

You did that in post #83. Good that you have since made some research.

I personly think that the hologram ones are real and that those in this

thread are copies. Whether they are good or bad I cant say, as I dont

have them. I have the real ones and they are good.

You can see the hologram on the second pic on the 18650 trustfire Look at the bottom of the "S"

Here is a similar pic i have taken. Both have holograms on them. It's all to do with the light angle.

You need to upload a photo like this where they are at the same angle and the flash is reflected of the battery

I can assure you that they dont have the holograms, it is difficult to show through the pictures since the letters are chrome and can show lots of reflections but with the naked eye the difference is obvious.

Also the shape of the flames is different from all other flame trustfires

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.20392

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.26124

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24980

http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.24979

The other thing difficult to convey through pictures is the colour of the flames these ones from ebay have a chromed yellow and the trustifres 14500 have pure yellow (non reflective), with the naked eye and side by side its easy to see.

Just post pic like I have with both batteries use the flash to reflect the light. As you can see from my pics both batteries reflect the light off. And you can see the Hologram.

With flash

This one from a user of Dealextreme (observe the different flames)
