I just happened to notice a few times now that post numbers (comment number) are changing. I just posted what should have been post #100 in a thread and it showed as #150. I clicked "first" to get to the O.P., then clicked "last" to get back to my post and it then correctly showed as #100. Not sure if this is a big deal or not (perhaps for giveaways!). I use the standard 50 posts per page setting. The other day (last week?) I also noticed post #1 being shown as post #50. It threw me off because I thought I was missing reading page 1 of posts for a thread.
AH HA! I've duplicated this issue by following ImA4Wheelr's link here at post #221. I was tipped off to the issue because he says in the post that he's linking to post#461, but when I click the link it shows me a post# of 761! If I click any page number and then click the correct page number I am shown the correct post#461! I'm guessing it has to do with the "Posts per Page" setting (mine is on the default of 50 per page - what is your's ImA4Wheelr?).
Here is what I see clicking the link (Hmm . . . looks like Photobucket reduced the quality of my photos, but you can still make out the post#):
Here is what I see when I change pages and come back to the correct page:
So I'm not crazy! Well maybe I am, but at least I think I found the cause of this issue and proved it REALLY IS happening!
Oh, and the post count is not changed by "50" necessarily, but by a factor of 50 (again based on the other user's "post per page" setting).
I have noticed that you've been one that is kind enough to list the post number you are linking to (which helps tremendously, so long as people don't delete their posts!).
Sizable though it is, I guess I can't hide behind my ignorance. I am set up at 30 comments per page.
I have notice the 50 post difference after I log out. When I posted the 600th post to your DST thread, I logged out saw that it said you had 650 posts. So I logged back on and edited my post. You can see there I say 600 and 650. I swear, I didn't mean to break BLF.
Tried a PNG - still blurry. Read some stuff on Photobucket limiting image filesize and image size (lost the numbers - closed the webpage), but my images were under the limits (their just screen captures). Then read to try PNG's. Hmm. ..
