Very interested in this… One of my grails is for something like this, even a double layer 10mm board for AAA would be good too… Looking forward to the pics…
That looks cool. I just haven't been able to get around to doing anything yet, but it's still on my radar. I have a few ICs lined up in my spreadsheet to try out.
Would it make sense for me to send it you for program testing etc or someone else? The stock modes are terrible. 1 second on - time memory. Barely any difference in the three modes. Meh.
If you'd like I would certainly take a look at it. The mode spacing may be a limitation of the IC--some of them don't have that great of a dimming ratio; on the other hand, many of the other lights that I've seen could dim much lower than they were programmed for.
That looks nice, but I know very little about hardware.
I’d love for there to be an AA boost driver with a common programmable MCU. AA is my favorite form factor for lights, especially in the size/shape of the L3 L10 or CNQG brass AA. These both take a 14mm single-sided driver, if I recall correctly, which doesn’t make it easy to fit components.
I continue to give away my older 18650 lights, downrated to a 1.5v driver, with 4/3AF NiMH cells, to people who shouldn’t mess with lithium-ions (with youngsters, mainly).
