Thanks for the update on the holster Tom. The one l ordered is coming from the UK with free shipping to Australia. It was also about the cheapest in my budget.
Regarding a charger, i’ve used two Opus BTC-3100 for more then a year with no issues. The nice thing over the Lii 500 is it can do 2A on the two left and right slots - and 1A on the middle two. Quite convenient for 26650s. Noisy fan but still working - I have a couple spares (fans) just in case though.
I just ordered 4 BT 30Qs from BG for 21.13 euros.
Sorry to hear battery shipping to Germany is a problem right now… I’ve have quite a few cells on the way from GB, FT and BG… Last time it went well. I received some Sanyo UR14500 from FT a few weeks ago. Hope it’ll go through again.
The shipment of batteries in Fasttech is quite restricted. They do not use many companies to send batteries. Luckily, at least for Spain, they use Sweden Post, and shipping only costs $ 2.05, this morning I ordered 8 Samsung 30Q Button top for a total price of 35.85 $
The Miller will get you added to the list that's in the opening post the next time he updates it. Might want to browse through that first post - lots of info there. Any questions, don't hesitate to ask.
Was it free after all?
I guess they offer free shipping to some locations on certain products
I have seen “free shipping” change to non free on multiple sites that sell worldwide. Hate it for sure.
Welcome to BLF!
Will update list later
About total costs for somebody not having cells and charger ( please read li ion safety 101, link in my SIG )
Q8 $40
4 good cells ~$20
Liitokala li500 ~$20
~$80 that is of cheap for sure.
People, get your cells NOW or you may discover that your preferred source cannot or will not provide them. Many sites will list that they ship to your location and it’s only when you try to place an order that you will find out that they don’t Lights are no fun un-powered and the cells won’t rot while you wait for the light
The current mess with shipping Li cells probably wont be well-solved for another year or two as things move slowly regarding regulations and implementing them. And it may get worse before it gets better. A friend who is a drone hobbyist told me yesterday that some airlines now require that drone batteries be no more than 30% charged before they are allowed on the plane, and while this is bad for these LiIon packs but that doesn’t change the situation.
@Tom E
Agreed in revisiting the timed step-down, but I’d like to see it be as long as possible without over-doing it. While I’m all for making it ‘muggle-safe’, perceived warmth to the hand is very subjective and those who use this light will learn quickly if it gets too warm for them. If you try to please everybody there will be no room for performance so just keep the light itself safe and the step-down reasonably long.
People in the US don’t need to purchase batteries from China. You might spend a dollar or two more purchasing in the US, but you will receive them in 2 or 3 days, versus 3 to 4 weeks, if at all. (talking to you gearbest)
