Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

No mass pm's have been sent yet. We are just asking to review the list in the opening post.

Yea, definite some mistakes in the specs listed.

Just remembered that I’m in the list for this one too, I have to drop out. I’m number 24 on the list.

Some corrections below. They should also list and show the tripod mount, and the anodizing of HA II should be listed. The lumens/throw is based on my readings, but slightly lower in lumens. I believe djozz measured lower than mine, just can't find his post of the numbers. Best to stay conservative, on the low side, but their listing is way too low - under spec'ing significantly isn't good either, in my opinion.

If possible, I would like to change one of my 2 units (1114 and 1129) to number 24 that has left empty thijsco, thank you.

I would change the listing to show that it can take protected or unprotected button tops.

I’d also change the clicky switch to either Electronic or E-Switch.

Maybe clarify it’s XPL HD.

On lumens, you could add a + after the spec showing that it’s capable of more than the rated output.

Updated post #10649

For lumens, ideally I'd use djozz's measured #'s on 30Q BT cells, since the 30Q's have been the most popular - recommended, low cost, commonly available, good performance, good capacity. The next best overall cell is the PANA/SANYO GA BT, but less common, more $$$ - highest capacity and decent performance. I have to check my notes if I measured the round 3 proto, but of course, the springs and the MCPCB changed since round 3, but if anything, performance went up from those changes.

With some 1600 units spoken for, y’all DO realize what a nightmare it would create if everyone wanted to start switching place numbers at the last minute, right? There are no serial numbers, one’s spot on the list is non-crucial. It is what it is, you joined when you joined, it would be best to sit back and enjoy the ride.

Miller, I wish you the best of luck on a smooth run from here on out… something tells me you’re gonna need it!

And they can add a line with stainless steel bezel.

Well of course asked for our text to be put in the description
Asked for correction on:
Cell voltage showing switch -> beacon switch, flashlight blinks out voltage
4500 lumens -> 5000 lumens (prefer under spec  )
200 meter distance -> 400 meters (prefer under spec  )
Check AR coating lens
Check HA3, could/should be Type2

They put down the addition of the extra switch cover, I wanted that to be a surprise so people can use it to make the switch as tight or mushy as they individually want.

Hi, could I be added to the list please? It looks better every week!

I don’t think that’s ever happened before. Does anyone know of that happening?

If you look at the current market you will see they can’t price it much above $55 because you get too close to the territory of much more powerful lights like the MF01.

If they were to sell it at $80, no one would buy it. Look at the competition in the $80 range.

Now they may list the regular msrp price at $80 or $99 whatever, but the actual selling price has to make sense.

Then again, it’s China. Anything could happen. Lol

How about this? Dropped lumens to 5,000, but throw of only 400 meters is way too low. I'm just guessing they are using some sort of canned spec table - not sure row could be added or removed.

Welcome to BLF, yes you are just in time

List order doesn’t mean anything, so indeed not going to change it
Thanks Dale, it is indeed the moment of truth in a short while.
It has been a big party, with only the slow progress as somewhat negative aspect.
But with so many being made and shipped all around the world, to be received by people with high expectations there is bound to be some troubles ahead, that is simple math

Hey can you give some more information about batch processing? For now only first 500 people will get code for price adjustment? Or did they already produce all of them?

Almost one year and a half since this thread was started and there it is in the BG listings. The BLF Q8 has become a reality.
I remember i asked this simple question a few days before it all started: Has there ever been a BLF souped up SRK clone?

Great work everybody involved! :+1:  (still can’t find a glass of wine in the emoticons…)

Now the next few weeks will be excruciating waiting time… :person_facepalming: :weary:

That looks pretty darn good. One thing though, I can hear people saying “What the heck is mode set operation?” Maybe it would be better to change it to:
Smooth ramping or 1 to 7 preset levels

Not everyone knows our jargon.

Yes it seems they are going to be produced right after each other
It looks like all get the PM with instructions and code at the same time September 7th
The time of ordering and finalizing payment seems to be the factor deciding from what batch one receives their Q8.

This is actually very good news, a reason for doing a first 500 batch was so problems could be fixed later so I take this as a sign of Thorfire judging no such smoothening is needed for they are well aware of the exposure and repercussions problems would have.

+1, totally true, might be too late if The Miller sent it already though.

Stumbled across this light online and finally decided to create an account just in time to make the list. Looks like it has been a long process but the end result will be a great light.

Please add twoleftfeet to the list. Thanks The Miller!
