Q8, PMS SEND TO THOSE WITH ISSUES BLF soda can light

What message would people not be getting?
Thorfire is working on it, we report the findings both ways.
I see no relevance with expiring code in a week. We will see if extension is needed the 26th but any extension would still mean that the few who waited are not likely to see reports on the new batch so it wouldn’t change from the current situation. With all the people who have left BLF or lost interest I wonder how many have actually hold of ordering looking at the pre orders.

I want to say thanks to you i do the reset factory.
But no luck at all led never power on,again :P.

The miller i need to do something to bangood, send a email or something?

Nope, the button top base sits on top of the plastic wrapper. So the only contact is the metal strip inside.

Yeah, I doubt it’s anything in the settings. More likely the leds themselves. Doesn’t hurt to try though.

+1

I’d probably order more if I was able to get mine before the coupon expired, which I hope is saying something since I’ve already ordered 6.

I guess I see your point. It's a pre-order either way now.

DavidEF, how does the trick to remove mode memory on a light work? Very interested.

More on topic, I think people should relax a bit and sit tight. We all want a Q8, but I’m sure we would prefer a working Q8. Don’t come in here crying murder to the devteam, they are doing all they can, out of their own time and money.

Sit tight, a solution will be found soon enough. I have full confidence on the devteam. These errors are part and parcel whenever you try to push the limits of what other flashlights have done before.

That’s just silly. Lol

I was hoping the button tops were tack welded right on to the factory tops. That would make them strong when you have a side load such as screwing in a battery tube. The button tops are basically loose. They have a glued on plastic ring to help keep them centered, plus the clear wrapper to hold the glue in place. Not a very good design to my eyes.

Yes it was a pre order to begin with

No do not email Banggood.
I have added you to the list of people with a problem in the OP.
Yours did not work right away?
Are you handy and can you check the switch assembly? Maybe measure things with a DMM?
Pics are a great help, showing the resistor, soldering and SMD LEDs.

For you now just enjoy the important lights of the Q8 that o work, the 4 in the front  awaiting more reports and a solution will be found.

Well for once my tendency towards procrastination didn’t turn around and bite me on the *. Do your best TF, in the meantime I have my wicked cool little Emisar D4 to keep me amused.

The button led works fine when i plug the battery, first power on some clicks in the next 2-3 minuts and dead. I dont have the skills to help as i want, but at least i csn try to show photos from the leds and resistor from button if can me show how to remove the silicon from the led button… I can wait until is fixed, and then try hard if i can to repair the led button, i like the button with the led on :D.

Of course the flashlight aparently works perfect

The graphite is conductive so a drawn line acts like a wire. Depending on the driver design your just shorting out a circuit. I think on this one light it got rid of the next mode memory by making it one mode. Always high.

Anyone could rec me a site to check the air parcel that gave me BG? Tried sky56 and nothin

nishayume thanks for clarification, good to know yours too did work at first, making it a same issue as the others.

I’ve received two Q8s and they’re awesome! Way to go Q-Team! :+1:

Here are a few beamshots with some other multi-emitter lights. Lights were mounted just under the camera at waist height.

The lights are the Noctigon Meteor M43, BLF Q8, Emisar D4, and DQG 26650 III. See info in upper left of photos.

In the first location, the lights were aimed level at the trunk of the center tree, 115 feet / 35 meters away.

In the second location, the lights were aimed slightly upward at the tree’s leaves, 115 / 35 meters away.

All four lights:

Just the Meteor and Q8:

I’m not very confident that this little metal stripe will withstand sustained 20A. What do you all think?

It won’t have to, when you use 4 cells the load is divided between them. If you only use one cell, it’ll deliver less amperage.

Assuming you don’t try to run the Q8 with only one battery, it never has to.

The batteries are in parallel, the total amp draw is divided by the number of batteries loaded. With 4 in there, that strap will only be carrying 5 amps. No problem.

Pry it off and solder boob the cell, should work fine
