I guess #1 to be different. Smooth is a nice idea but that ti lan is already too slippery. You could add some rings for grip (see McGizmo) and skip fit cutouts in the centre.

Btw, I think #1 is really good, but wouldn’t match the Mokume Gane, would reduce its effect and beauty. Would be perfectly fine with monochrome material.
Make it smooth, the ridges on both ends of the tube provide enough grip for such a small light, even with small hands. The light would look so much better with no knurling or machining on the tube.
