【Replace Suggestion】About Anduril Buck Driver on SP35

Thanks for the clarification, and please let me know when you start selling such a light – I would definitely want one.

SP33S head, XHP70.3 HI, 21700 body tube would be an amazing light imo.

SC33 is a reasonable replacement, but has worse sustained performance, no Powerbank, and tailswitch - imo the SP33S was amazing the way it was, only the very chonky body tube (not too comfortable to hold with small hands) and the (by now very) rare battery form factor held it back.

With the SP33S being discontinued, sofirn gave up a niche that only Wurkkos fills now (TS22). But since they discontinued it, I guess it did not sell well :frowning:

Sorry for the offtopic, Barry, i Just wanted to give a shout-out to my first (what I would call) enthusiast light, the SP33S. My parents are using it by now, I miss it sometimes.

26650?

Yeah. The formfactor is just dead. You can still get cells, but considering neither the EV nor the powertool market uses the standard anymore, they are developed and manufactured strictly for the flashlight market now. As such, there is much, much less financial interest in improving them, and economics of scale don’t work the way they do for 21700 for example.

They have been pretty scarce. Always available, but not many variants. Vapcell tends to have one or two models of 26650 available at any given time. Fortunately there’s a new one out right now, the Sinowatt 70HP (SW26650-70HP) 7000mAh 14A CDR.

In addition to IF22A, are there other models recommended for Anduril buck drivers?

SP36 please!

It’s a classic that could use some modernization.

2 Thanks

The current basic requirements are that the maximum lumen is controlled within 2000…

The SP40A. I modified one to have anduril (FET only) and it’s the greatest thing ever. Put a 519a or SFT40 on it, buck driver and anduril and it’s done. Output regulated under 2000 lumens, check :heavy_check_mark:. Oh, and please don’t forget the green and the brown colors (greatest colors ever!!)

The SP35T would be awesome. I love the tactical aspect of it but it is severely affected by its low efficiency driver.

The good old SC32 was also unique on its own. The smallest light ever with tail e-switch, 18650 and USB-C. Awesome little light!

Since 18650 lights started to be offered I’d like to ask if 18650 is not too small ?

Also can you share some news regarding “SOFIRN SC31PRO with regulated driver” ? Or are this SP35 and that SC31pro drivers the same project ?

We originally wanted to change SC31PRO to a buch driver, but the engineer said there was not enough space inside. So we designed a buck driver based on the space of SP35. So they cannot be shared.

From existing models I think only the IF22A would work. But that doesn’t need to be a negative, it’s a good light in principle and adding Anduril and an efficient driver plus maybe switching the SFT to a 5000K would make it a great offering IMO.

So my vote would go to IF22A with a switch to 5000K SFT40

SP40 with Anduril2, Buck, 519A and USB-C would be fantastic!
