Thank goodness I listened to you because it worked perfectly. I don’t know why I was so determined to put serialupdi and not jtag2updi as you told me because when modifying the programmer firmware the protocol was also jtag2updi. Thank you very much for your contribution, without your help I would still be mulling over the issue. The resistor is not necessary and the programmer is cheap and works perfectly. Once the whole process is done it now seems very simple to me.

Good afternoon. Out of curiosity, does anyone know if this “AVR JTAG ICE Version 2.0” programmer can program any other chip model apart from attiny1616 and avrd32dd20?
