SFT40 vs. SFT25R

What’s the main difference between the two series? Each has various species, I believe. How to bypass the naming and compare the LEDs by what they can and cannot do in flashlights?

The SFT-40 is a 5050 sized LED with a Light Emitting Surface a bit bigger. It can also handle more power. Available in 3000k 95CRI.
The SFT-25 is a 3535 sized LED but with a smaller, round LES. Cold CCTs only.

The new SFT25R is ideal for throwing far - it is ideal for a dedicated thrower. The tried and true SFT40 and SFT70 compromise on throw a little for more brightness - they are ideal for a more balanced but still throwy light.

Driven hard the SFT-25R fits where a XP-L or 519A goes and is a good LED with really good candela and decent output. Plus the round die is much easier to focus than a W1 or W2 and works great with smooth reflectors and optics. Tested in the X4 and it’s a hoot!

SFT25 uses a 3535 mcpcb, same as 519a, SFT40 uses a 5050 mcpcb, same as XM-L

SFT25R is a perfect replacement for 519A if you want a more throwy, brighter beam profile.
SFT40 replaces SST40 or old XML2.

The 5000K from KD is nice, similar to SFT40 5000K tint versus 6500K.
