Shadow SC600 vs UF-T50 -- Winners Announced -- The Lights Are Done!!!!!!!

i’m willing to take care of the sc600 host  one really clever czech guy makes his own drivers which can be operated with an eletronic button, led should be okay… glass lens is cheap

FUBAR

Mount them on a plinth, with the guts laid out below, as a testament to the abuse both lights needed to kill them.

There are no winners here, both are cannon fodder, they died well though and should be remembered. :face_with_monocle:

Some times you just need to talk it through, and know when to sign the Do Not Resuscitate papers.

Would be senseless to gut perfectly good lights to just reuse beat shells from the old ones. One of the worse ideas I've heard lately. Let them die with dignity and call it a day.

Contact Zebralight and Ultrafire. Tell them what was done give them rights to the photos and see if they would spot BLF the give away lights……

I think both mfg’s should be proud of what those lights endured

Both switches were crushed during the crush tests, with the truck.

Ok. Maybe try heating them until they melt and form a new flashlight out of it? :P

Zebralight is supposed to have a good warranty. Send our subject to them with a simple note stating, "It just stopped working the other day. I'm not sure what happened or why".

I'd love to see their reply. LOL!

 I was thinking the same thing.

What about making them into one mode lights? No switch, just turn on or off using the tail cap? Fill the switch hole with epoxy or something? Is a QTC pill possible?

The UF could be a mule, no reflector. Just some thoughts.

What makes more sense to me is to make new lights out of these not repair as original.

One mode, direct drive twisty with lockout.
The Old-Lumens way, that will make them special.
(that is what i thought would happen when this giveaway/torture test started)

Yes, I know, the buttons will just be there doing nothing.

Mount on a base with all the guts around. Shove a candle in each one. Good ryntimes but low output. No pwm but subject to flickering

Are you one of them?

Yes, it would be awesome to see their reply.

If they replace it we can run a fund drive to pay them back. Plus every 1 dollar gives the donor 1 chance to win it.

Thanks Justin for your thorough assessment. I didn’t realize they were this bad and am thinking it doesn’t make sense to do much with them, except maybe what kbark (#276) and Johm (#277) suggested. Any other brilliant ideas anyone?

P.S. Torture testing Zebralight’s warranty seems like another interesting possibility!

I don’t know of whom you speak ?http://budgetlightforum.com/sites/all/modules/smileys/packs/Roving/bigsmile.png

ohhh maybe because it would be candle - power ? and this is a forum …….

no I’m not one of them if that’s what we are talking about but I guess each would have 1 candle power

Perhaps contact the manufacturers, show them this thread, let them know it’s for a good cause. Develop some public awareness with the manufacturers help. Then auction them off for charity ?

This has been very informative thread, with over 4500 reads, 275+ replies.

The "testing" applied to both lights would be considered "extreme" in some tests, other "tests" I think would be considered Research and Development (the manufacturers should do, but do they?) I'd like to see what (if any) warranty consideration would be given to the Zebra.

The Backbone of any corporation, How do they Take Care of a Customer, AFTER the SALE ?. Like Leatherman multitools, guaranteed to work or they repair/replace to make and keep the customer HAPPY.

Justin has given his medical opinion and thorough assessment, while he has worked some amazing miracles, he must have something to work with, my opinion is, Do Not Resuscitate.
