Smallest Brightest 18650 XML EDC Search (pictures)

Hello BLFers!

Just when I think I have all the flashlights I need, I realize I dont.

Im currently spending (too many) hours searching for the SMALLEST and BRIGHTEST EDC light.

-XML only (ill entertain XPG2 if its over 500L OTF [if that possible])
–18650 only
-SMO reflector
-Strobe

Im currently EDCing a Xeno E03 which im able to fit into my “little pocket” on my jeans with a SRM 763.
The xeno E03 is 97mm x 22mm. Im looking for soemthing in 18650 that is close as possible in size to my Xeno, but brighter.

So far its between these lights:

NicoNature S10 - 100mm x 25mm - Hi/Strobe/low - rated at 800 lumens OTF. $40.00

PALight V60 - 98mm x 26mm - Twisty w/strobe and turbo - 600L OTF $50.00

Olight S20 - 106mm x 23mm - h/m/l/moon/strobe - 450L OTV and deep pocket clip. $60.00

DQG 18650 EDC - 86mm x 27mm - h/m/l (Cannot buy yet but looks promising) ?$50.00?

So far im looking at the NicoNature, I like that its Hi/Strobe/Low. and rated 880L OTF, which im sure is more like 600 OTF. The Olight is the prettiest, but a bit long at 106mm, But with that awesome deep pocket clip, I wouldnt mind wearing it in a regular pocket.

Anyone Know of any other Super Bright 18650 in this same size range? (nothing above 105mm, but I prefer 100mm or under)

Thanks BLF community!

Much appreciated

Eagletac D25LC2 Mini is 108mm. But I will get the DQG. :D

Also a good buy in t6 3c.

I don’t know why it is 18650 only but if you decide to change your mind the Sunwayman V11R is a 500lumen light that is 84mm x 23mm so it really is an EDC that drops in your pocket. I love mine and it really does go everywhere with me.

Yeah, I really wanted that one, but its just too long. I would get the Olight S20 Baton before I would get the Eagletec though. S20 has a SMO reflector, a magnet bottom, true moonlight mode, etc. In my opinion, for the money the Olight S20 is a much better light than the D25LC2 Mini and comes in 2mm shorter.

Those are both quite long (in regards to what im looking for) at 114mm each. Those were both early contenders which were ruled out due to their length. Both nice lights though. The CityCat Yee-Lic at CQG is nice in that same’ish size as well 113x23mm.

Runtime. I have a Xeno E03 and have to charge my 14500 quite often with it only being 900mah. want to cut that charging time in half, or even by a third by using a 3400mah Panny.
I really like the V11R thought very nice looking light, too.

Heres a compiled list of the lights I looked at, just in case it might help someone in the future, of some of the smallest 18650/XML EDC’s I found:

And the good old
Ultrafire C303 116mm x 23mm

$20, still my favourite EDC.

And the Xiaozhi 112 x 23

Wait for the DQG 18650. :P

Or buy a Sunwayman with extender and get it bored out for 18500 cells..

I posted this over on a XIAOZHI review thread there, copied here fyi...

Here are some measurments I made on 5 EDC's I have:

HD2011 (WallBuys) mod'ed w/U3 1C, 2.8A:

2.83A measured, 802 lumens @start, 775 lumens after 30 secs

EDC 18650 (I0) w/U2, 2.8A, stock:

2.82A measured, 615 lumens @start, 574 lumens after 30 secs

XIAOZHI (FF) w/T6 1A, 2.8A, stock:

2.81A measured, 737 lumens @start, 710 lumens after 30 secs

TF T2, XP-G R5, stock:

1.62A measured, 333 lumens @start, 289 lumens after 30 secs

G10 mod'ed w/XP-G2 R3 1A, 1.7A:

1.72A measured, 404 lumens @start, 391 lumens after 30 secs (full charged DLG via KumaBear!)

* all tests, accept G10, done with fully charged Panasonic 2900 unprotected. Lightbox is PVC pipe based.

Hope this puts it in perspective. Not sure why the EDC tests so low, because it does have a U2. It definitely is the oldest light I have of the bunch, and also it has a white ring around the emitter (part of the reflector) which is maybe interfering with light output.

I think the XIAOZHI does remarkably well for a stock T6 1A setup, but the mod'ed HD2011 is nice - it's got a course OP, spreads the light out well. The TF T2 is overdue for a mod: XP-G2 upgrade, 2.8A maybe - throws well now but should do even better with the XP-G2.

Sorry im not familiar with this word…“wait”. Im thinking of snagging the niconature then ill snap up the DQG EDC 18650 if it has a strobe…when it comes out. Thanks again and if i missed one, please keep the suggestion scoming!
