Hi BLFers,
We are very surprised by @SammysHP on BLF used the TS11’s short barrel to perfectly match the SR12.
Want to light up long distances with a flashlight suitable for EDC? At first glance, the new Sofirn SR12 doesn’t show its throw possibilities at all, but the deep reflector and the Luminus SFT-25R make it possible.
The flashlight becomes even more interesting when combined with an optionally available short battery tube for 18350 batteries. In this review, I have taken a brief look at the small pocket thrower.

In this regard, the following are two solutions proposed by our R&D department.
Directly release SR12 mini, with a short barrel directly matched with TS11. The advantage is fast, but the disadvantage is that there is no clip;
Design a separate SR12 mini with a clip, but the disadvantage is that it will take some time before it is officially launched.

Make it with a nice pocket clip, even if it takes a little longer, i think it’s way better !

When I read the review and saw it with a short tube, it looked very interesting. It is something I would use myself, and it seems practical. I do not think it looks that good though, and would prefer if a short tube was designed specifically for the SR12.

Release it with long tube and for a small fee include short tube and later sell the short tube with clip
but for BLF members release it now with short and long tube for half price
I thought the same. Unfortunately I couldn’t find it anywhere in my box with flashlight parts.
Not sure if it makes sense to create a new SKU just for a short version instead of simply offering as an optional accessory.

Unless they’re willing to put that great spiral knurling on the short tube! (But then I personally would want them to just offer it for sale separately, so I can get them without a light I have no use for )
Otherwise, yes, I’d see no reason for another product #, just complicates matters for everyone.
If nothing else, add $2 to the cost of the light and just include the existing black short tube for all of them.

Nobody asked, but here’s the answear - Wurkkos FC11 short 18350 tube also fits SR12

And the FC11C clip fits the stubby arrangement too. 5000K emitter could be an upgrade worth waiting for.

Some interesting data for FC11C 5000K with 18350, 850 mAh Sofrin battery:
It will produce some 350 lm·h on High and close to 500 lm·h on Med.
Some 35 min main regulated runtime on High (550 lm), ~2 hours on Med (250 lm), and perhaps 10 hours on Low (50 lm).
All three modes work for extra ~15 min in reserve at 30 lm after the final step-down and before the LVP shuts the light off.
Red battery indicator starts blinking constantly at some 3% battery left, which coinc…
Nice! If the FC11 short tube fits, the Convoy 18350 short tube should fit the threads as well. And the Convoy’s 18350 tube is even shorter!
