Just for reference:
A pair of Trustfire Flame 14500 (protected) from manafont
Discharged these at wrong amperage, used 1A instead of 0,5A that was suggested.
1st cycle
Cell 1 : 757mAh
Cell 2 : 662mAh
Seems like I got a bad pair...

I got some batteries from DD , just to see what there selling .. Dek 800 and Sunos 900 ...
Initial discharge = From packet [ 500mAh discharge ]
Dek 1- 351mAh / 2- 386mAh
Sunos 1- 375mAh / 2- 315mAh
After being fully charged , discharged @ 500mAh
Dek 1- 643mAh / 2- 626mAh
Sunos 1- 712mAh / 2- 731mAh
Heard some good things about Turnigy AA LSD batteries , so thought I might buy some ..
Also new DEK2750 [ though it does not come close to claimed capacity ]
Discharging @ 1A returned :
DEK - 1897mAh - 1916mAh [ 2750 claimed capacity ]
Turnigy - 2196mAh - 2163mAh [ Claimed capacity 2200mAh ]
Discharge test with 4 different flashlights ...
Turnigy - 1.75A - 2A - 1.99A - 2.1A
DEK - 1.7A - 1.89A - 1.9A - 2A
Rayovac - 1.75A - 2A - 1.9A - 2A
AccuEvolution - 1.85A - 1.9A - 2A - 2.22A
The DEK from DinoDirect were some what disappointing [ capacity claim ] , on the other hand the Turnigy LSD AA's performed very well , and I would be seriously tempted to buy some more , if your interested in the Turnigy , head on over to HobbyKing ...

I got some Turnigy 2200 mAh LSD AA batteries from Hobby King this week. I discharged them right out of the package at 500mA. Then I did a Refresh/Analyze cycle at 1000 charge and 1000 discharge on my Maha C9000. Very good results:
Cell | Initial Discharge | 1000mA Discharge from Full |
1 | 1667 | 2411 |
2 | 1654 | 2318 |
3 | 1644 | 2299 |
4 | 1645 | 2385 |
5 | 1631 | 2344 |
6 | 1642 | 2343 |
7 | 1683 | 2368 |
8 | 1650 | 2333 |
Avg. | 1652 | 2350 |
Very consistent results. Eneloops and Duraloops usually come in just under 2000. What is impressive about this is that if these batteries can maintain 75% of their charge after a year (1763 mAh), they would have more capacity than Eneloops which retain 85% of their charge (1700 mAh). I plan on discharging 2 cells each at 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year. Continued here.
Cell: Sanyo UR18650A
Discharger: iCharger 106B+
Claimed capacity: min. 2300 mAh, typ. 2400 mAh
Tested capacity (tested only 2 cells): 2251 / 2234 mAh @ 1A discharge, 3V cut-off
Notes: taken out of brand new 3-cell laptop battery pack (with dead PCB), charged using Xtar WP2 II at 500 mA.
I love batteries so I will be keeping track of the results.
Thanks brted!

On receipt, the first cell of the pair measured 3.32 volts; initial discharge got a whopping ONE mAh. The second cell measured 3.35 volts and also registered 1 mAh, but was not tested because it became warm even at an 0.2 amp charge rate (at 1 A after the initial discharge, voltage shot up to 4.2 after only 60 mAh and then dropped back under 4 volts!).
Opened a pack of white-top Duracell AAA's I bought last year.
Initial discharge on C9000 @ 500mA: 582, 604, 589, 597
After charging and doing a discharge the next day @ 500mA: 794, 812, 801, 808
I love these cells. Less than 2% difference in capacity, all coming in very close to the 800mA nominal capacity.
Energizer Ultimate AA:
500mA discharge = 2990mAh
1000mA discharge = 2912mAh

About to test a DSE (Dick Smith) alkaline on the C9000 in a minute.
I’ll do 200mA discharge like your other AA tests.
Is that a energizer ultimate lithium?
Yes sorry, that was Energizer Ultimate Lithium.
I also have 30 Energizer Advanced lithium so I will test some of them as well, even though I think they will have the same results for those amps drawn.
Just finished some more.
Varta Long Life Extra (AA Alkaline)
500mA discharge = 1300mAh
DSE (Dick Smith AA Alkaline)
500mA discharge = 1356mAh
Also testing the 2 alkalines above at 200mAh but it wont be finished for a while.
Thanks for taking one for the team, ezarc! Those are expensive batteries just to run down, but that’s great info to have. I guess since those have higher voltage than NiMH batteries, the actual energy is even more than it looks.
Finished 200mA discharges
Varta Long Life Extra (AA Alkaline)
500mA discharge = 1300mAh
200mA discharge = 1730mAh
DSE (Dick Smith AA Alkaline)
500mA discharge = 1356mAh
200mA discharge = 1562mAh
During the past days i did imax b6 measurements on my TF 14500 flames and posted them in the other thread:
hope this helpz!
4 gray unprotected TF from DX. Form 4.20V to 3.00V at 1.5A current.
1. 1856mAh
2. 1866mAh
3. 1857mAh
4. 1873mAh
Just got 4 of Hobby King’s Turnigy 900mAh AAA Low Self-Discharge NiMH batteries. They look just like the older 800mAh variety which always came in better than 800mAh. And these are definitely an improvement.
From the factory, they discharged: 562, 547, 549, 561. But after charging them up and then doing a 500mA discharge, the results were 996, 984, 977, and 987 (average 986). Really impressive for AAA batteries and glad to see HobbyKing is still underrating the capacity of these. Not sure if they will hold a charge as well as the earlier version.
Received via Hobby King’s parcel today. 4 Turnigy 2400mAh AA LSD NiMH batteries, 2 Turnigy NiZN 1500mA AA (2500mWh) along with white NiZN charger JIELIYUAN YS-JLY5HR
NiMH
Direct discharged at 1A in C9000 with 1410mA / 1365mA / 1329mA / 1379mA
Rest 2 hours, charge at 1A with 2349mA / 2368mA / 2423mA / 2439mA
Pretty impressive, I’ll cycle another round & keep for a month & discharge again. EDIT:- 2446mA / 2590mA / 2595mA / 2558mA :exmark:
NiZN
Charger came in white cardboard box, no booklet or instruction manual. (on the back:- Output : DC 1.9V 1.5A) Looks to be 4 independent slots.
Put in two Turnigy NiZN & two PowerGenix NiZN, I didn’t monitor the progress, when I’m back to the charger, two PowerGenix slot led turn Green, measured 1.87V & 1.88V
Slot in another two PowerGenix to top it off, as of now, all 4 batteries still Red led, back of charger a tad warm, batteries were cold (Turnigy’s NiZN already in there for pass 7hrs)
