The new Jaxman E3 flashlight comes in the new year

I think it is no doubt that: they copied us.
Jaxman E3 issued in Feb,2015. Only because of we are not famous brand, and we insisting quality not quantity, so we are not known as much as the cheaper flashlights brand.

One word, if they provide a selling record early than Mar 2015,I will apologize here.

Dont forget, Manker had copy us Z1 flashlight and titled it as a COMETA flashlights , and had been selling in BLF. It is just happend years ago….

hi, really, only a few factories engaging metal machining in China, and most flashlight factory dont machine metal part themselves. This is according to economical principles.

We keep at least 2 metal machining factories. And as business partners, we are keeping very good relationship with our supplier. Our supplier never sell host to others without our permission. That is a base of corperation between any such kind of partners. If a metal machine factory do business by selling their custmer’s design, I think they will make good business at all.

As others brand related, I dont want to say too more. For ourselves,we never use the same design with other flashlights brand. We are just to be us,Jaxman.

“Jaxman”, thanks for all the answers and explanations given
I guess this will be a top quality light!

May I ask you: what will be the diameter of the driver? 15mm, 17mm?

Also, do you intend to have the light glued?

Thank you very much, again, for your work

I have to agree with others on the moon/low/med/high. Small led footprint. And interested in driver size too.

I like the idea of a driver customizable by soldering/unsoldering stars. Quick enough to change, but no need to memorize mode group change instructions, and no accidental mode group changes. Also much easier and beginner friendly than reflashing, or even swapping a driver.

Subbed! Jaxman you have impressed me again! I want one! Lets see…. I currently own 1 Jaxman Z1 and two Jaxman E2L. It’s time for the E3!

Interesting to know the timelime of this design. I might just give the new E3 a go

The Jaxman E2L is one of my favorite lights. I consider it as a high quality light. I also own a Jaxman U1 and a M8.
Now I’m very curious about the new E3!
I’d like to see this one with a high-cri emitter. Moon-mode would be nice to have, indeed.

Pardon me but I’m still confused — is the E3 now for sale something different than what is being discussed here?

hi the driver PCB size is 17mm, and no glued, becase this model need not fixed the MCPCB.

You are always welcome!

hi I am intending to choose a 3 modes UI, simple and easy to operate.
and thank all good advices.

hi Hatman, now on selling is the new E3.
now the MODE is High Middle. and I only issued the Nichia 219CT version ,infact I also have Cree xpg2 version.

Good idea. A simple low/med/high setup works. Just like the E2L. Since this light lacks LVP when using a 14500, will the light be able to accommodate protected 14500 cells? Will you offer a Nichia 319AT led with the light as an option?

Thanks for your answer, those are great news  I guess I will have my first Jaxman flashlight
(my other order, so far, was of LEDs and optics!)

If I understand correctly, reading these 2 answers, the driver will be changed, right?
Now it is “Middle > High” and you want to have a 3 mode (Low> Middle> High), correct?
Do you have any expected date for that change and further commercialization with the 3 modes?

Thanks again

Yes — if there is going to be a change, can you tell us when that version will be available?

I ordered the version of the Jaxman E3 high CRI, warm Nichia 219c that was in stock as of this date.

I left a note that I wanted to make sure that the body is black and that, if possible, I wanted it to turn on at high, them mid, then, if there is one, low.

A few days later, Jaxman notified me that my order has shipped and that my E3 would turn on at high — exactly what I want — and the next step would be mid. No low.

Ordering was painless and I paid with PP — thank you! I prefer not to use my cc online.

Will there be a newer version? That has been unclear to me all along in this thread. If so, and if there is a worthy improvement, I won’t hesitate to order again.

These lights are well-priced and I want to support Jaxman’s work.

Perfect.

Maybe throw in doubleclick-to-high. No strobe, please please please please please.

The only way to do LVP for any cell is to sniff the voltage at startup to determine when to cut off.

I’m getting LFP cells (3.2V constant) instead of Li.

Cut off alkaleak/NiCd/NiMH at 0.9V as you have, by sniffing no more than 1.6V on startup.

If you sniff 3.xV, it can be Li or LFP, so you can set cut off at 3.0V or 2.9V or whatever you’re comfortable with.

Anything in 2.xV, immediately cut off. Too high for alkaleak/Ni, and way way too low for Li.

Probably 14mm. 15mm is already wider than the cell, and you still need a wall+ledge to hold it.

For an AA light? Wow, I’m impressed!

Unless you have a TARDIS battery-tube. :smiling_imp:

My first Jaxman was the 365nm UV light. I was impressed by its quality and elegance.

So I did not hesitate and got a E2 219c CW. That was a great light too, with very useful modes for real daily use, and of course unparalleled cool white high color rendering. I took it to Acadia National Park for a week-long camping trip. With a diffuser from mtnelectronic it was the best ever tent light. My family had lots of fun playing Uno under it.

When this comes out, I will for sure get one too. Maybe two, one for each color temperature.

My personal preference for modes is low, medium, high with no mode memory. Low 2-5, medium 50-100, and high ~200 for AA, 500-600 for 14500.

One suggestion to you Jaxman is to provide a nice diffuser to go with it. It can turn the light to a very nice and useful lantern. Not the transparent ones but the opaque.
