The There Are No Stupid Questions Thread

Thanks, as in no reflector, no TIR lens, perhaps no lens at all?

Typically, for a mule, there will still be a lens to protect the LED, but doesn’t do very much in the way of beam shaping. No diffuser, no reflector, no collimator, no TIR.

Where can I find the latest version of the Anduril diagrams? The one I have is from April 2024.

Thanks Dc

Anduril question. Is there a way to go directly to the floor setting if I’m at ceiling or turbo?

In this thread

ahem. Have you tried turning it off and on again? Off, then 1H for floor

The no stupid questions thread, then you’re reply makes me feel like I asked a stupid question? Yes, I’ve tried turning it off. With memory enabled it just goes back to ceiling or turbo.

did you 1H (1 hold) as prescribed?

Yes. If Im at ceiling or turbo 1H just ramps down

you didnt follow the instructions.

Turn it off. then 1Hold from off.

if it bumps into turbo or ceiling from the off state with 1H, you’ll probably have to check your floor level

ahhhhhh, duh. Hey that works

I really like the ‘momentary-ON’ feature of some tail clicky lights. That is, a half press to energize the emitter, but not click to constant-ON. Just a half-press & hold for a short lighting.
Do all fwd clicky switches offer momentary-ON? If not, what feature description should I look for to find momentary-ON?
Thx.

lol, glad to be of assistance. Another thing you might want to check is the “no ramp from moon or floor” setting, 1 sec

Perfect. Just set it to stay at floor. THANK YOU.

Thankyou @Qubeet and @Dc38, I’ve bookmarked DirtyDancing’s Git page.

if it’s a mechanical switch, typically most forward clickies will be momentary capable, as the activation happens before the latch on state, so mode changes have to happen before the latched state.

If you were curious about reverse clickies, they don’t activate until AFTER the latch on state, so they allow short presses to deactivate to change modes while latched, etc.

**If you’re asking about Eswitches, they will be heavily subject to the programming/firmware, but are technically (mechanically) forward clickies as the depression initiates some action, whether on or off. Anduril 2, for example, allows a pseudo-momentary of ceiling/max with a 2H (click, then hold second press). Novatacs also allow a pseudo momentary if you enable the setting.

But not with Convoy

My Neal light does this and its the only thing i don’t like about it.
