put in a new offer of £23.50 last night which has been accepted at 09.30 UK time on Monday morning
my first offer wasn’t ( declined it expired )
Dimlux may have a point that they dont reply over the weekend
just been on there website it says there business hours are 0900am-1800pm Monday to friday
no weekend of public holidays so that answers why i got no reply
They rejected my offer for a bundle of 10 this morning, and when I tried to increase the offer, I see they have changed the listing to show they no longer ship to the UK. Their UK ebay store has also been emptied.
edit - It seems that ebay seller thrunite_store will no longer ship to the UK, but the new seller thrunite_shop will. I offered £48 for 2 packs of 5 Ti’s, offer accepted instantly.
Bundle arrive this morning from eBay order - the black one DOA. Also, has anyone noticed that the threads are pretty mucky these days, and need a bit of grease. Knew I should have stuck with the buddle - much better quality. Be interesting to see how Thrunite deal with an eBay complaint - one of the joys of direct selling.
Picked up my bundle from post office today, shipping was rather quick, but due to national holidays it was stuck at post office for few days.
Pink one was DOA, as soon as I unscrewed the head I felt rather strong burn smell, and that was before I even had battery installed, will contact ThruNite tonight, lets see what they offer as a solution :).
All of the other lights work, black one has the least smooth threads, not harsh, just not as smooth as the rest, the rest are really smooth, also, black one needs to be tightened far less than the rest of the lights to make them work, you get the distinctive copper ring visible on the black one, while on the rest of the lights its really thin line and not as prominent as on black one and/or pictures of Ti, I wonder if/how it affects waterproofness?.
All of them are 3Lm models, love them all, too many to use them all at once, so I picked up black as my EDC light and my gf picked up green one for herself :)! The rest will be either gifted or stashed away as backup lights with LSD’s in them.
Will have to order bunch of newest Turnigy’s for these :D!
Now Im going to see where could I get cheap Ti with firefly mode, really intrigued by low modes and their looong running times on these tiny things!
So far very satisfied with deal ;)!
Hi Woody, yeh the threads on my Buddle where fine, but the TNz i bought had poor threads/lube.A definate smell of Burn also.My none buddle should arrive Tomorrow,i hope ther all fit and well.
Hello PAL,£23.50 Was a winner for me.I wonder does the exchange rate determin ther yes/No answer.I would imagine it does.Looks like we may need a some Independant financial advice froma city broker before we bid.
Still,£24s a result.Tend to forget that includes postage & packing also
Just heard back from Sarah at Thrunite - they will send replacement Ti. Pretty reasonable service. I tried fiddling with the head of the dodgy one, but got flicker, and then nothing (again).
Mine arrived Today…PARCEL/PACKAGE DAMAGED  .I have taken some photographs of the unopened package[which had been squashed and torn open] and will check them all this evening. Not Thrunites fault so far.I hope they all work fine.Ther spoken for.
I tried lifting the contact spring (?) in the head. Didn’t work - I can’t really get the head and body to screw together. I’m worried about totally crushing it. I do get a bit of flickering, but it’s intermittent, and dim. Just tried again - nothing.
Ya know Its so annoying.Like a voice in ya head saying, TRY AGAIN,TRY AGAIN.FIX IT,FIX IT.Dont know whats worse. The not wroking or not being able to fix it….yet.Dont wana make it any worse though, which i usually end up doing.Huge hands, tiny light parts dont go well
Don - dead right. At the end of the day they have offered to send a new one, but I had a similar problem with a EZ AA oem light. That took about 10 minutes turning the head to get to high from low mode (I exaggerate for effect). Boaz & Match told me what to do - put a blob of solder on the head. They obviously haven’t seen my soldering skills. Still,I gave it a go … and got high mode only. Actually I was pleased - my first mod. After a while playing with it “look at that dear, I fixed that”, it began to work as it should have done - two modes. I was made up.
The trouble with this is that it’s not for me, and I don’t want to give it to someone only for them to tell me it’s broken again with 5 minutes. When the replacement comes I might get viscous with it. Actually I’m pleased I got it from eBay - as a new seller Thrunite can’t really afford to mess customers around, not when they have so little feedback.
I wonder how many Ti’s have been made & sold in the last 6 months, since the $5 deal?
Alot Woody, and its mainly your fault they sold…lol.Anyways,i have ALL mine working.Just some lube and gentle persuasion.I got a couple of flickers at first. Then my gold one sprang to life and works ok atm.The green one thats been D.O.A is working now,but its still not 100% yet.Ile probably give that to my pal Jim.Hes only got one good eye :Sp .
Noticed last night that Thrunite’s UK eBay store now only sells a few lights - Ti (single, black only - no buddles), TN11 & TN11S, and T30S.
Wonder what’s going on, and why they’ve dropped the rest of their stock - perhaps they discovered the hassle of dealing with punters, and want people to use their Thrunite store.
Got the black Ti working for a bit, but it’s dimmer than the one on my keychain, and still temperamental. I don’t do gentle persuasion - might get rough next time I play with it.
As much as I was excited upon receiving these lights and starting to use black one and despite pink one being DOA, Im now getting a bit cautious - my black Ti will not turn into high mode anymore, it just stays on low, green one is having the same problems, I changed batteries, checked the little lip/tab to make sure that nothing has detached, no changes…
Ive sent PM to ThruNite to see what they have to say about this, I really would love these to work flawlessly which they did until now, for the price I couldnt be happier for my purchase, but now it feels like my money might have been wasted and that theres valid reason for ThruNite throwing their lights away for such low prices on Ebay, call me suspicious, but other people have reported their Ti’s being almost indestructible, well, not mine it seems…
I see how they fix this, but there it goes, got 5 lights out of which 1 DOA, 2 lemons, the other two that seem to be working are actually boxed and not being used. I sooo hope that I just got bad batch of these and that its not their usual quality!
…and Ive had my Ti’s for only couple of days FFS :D!
Other than that I love looks and feel and user interface of these little lights, knurling feels aggressive, anodization strong, its easy to turn it on and off as well as switch modes with one hand and they have usable modes and reportedly long runtimes on low!
Here Im hoping for the best solution, I really love ’em :)!
Hmmm. The blue one on my keyring (from a batch direct from Thrunite) works fine, and is a good light. All the last batch, I felt, had pretty crappy threads. Only the black one didn’t work, but I’ll have to clean & lub the rest before giving them away. I think that they must have scaled up production of the Ti - they seem to be selling them by the cartload - and quality control seems to suffering.
I notice that Thrunite now only have a couple of lights on the US eBay.com now. That exercise didn’t last too long.
