The default optic of the D4 looks a little more floody than the S41’s. I have a Nichia 219c D4 and S41. The S41 has a more pronounced central spot compared to the D4 with the 10622. The S41’s beam also has more artifacts than the D4, the D4 has a cleaner beam overall (in spite of the pointy portions at the edges of the beam).

Where to buy Carclo optics?

I’ve been searching around for somewhere which will sell Carclo 26.5mm optics with reasonable postage costs and without requiring me to buy 10+ at a time. illumination-supply seem to have had them but they are backordered atm. I’m looking for either (or preferably both) the 10048 plain tight optic, or the 10124 narrow frosted optic. Both are 26.5mm diameter and 13.9mm deep. I want to try installing them in my SC600 to improve it’s durability, so would probably need the plastic holder for them …

Yeah probably the best (and only) place to buy them is intl-outdoor… I am also going to buy one but before buying I’ve tried to ask Neal if he’s still selling them, just in case, you can try too:

You can’t access Neal’s deals on Martin’s site as it says deactivated because of PayPal problems. I’ll likely go with Int’l-Outdoor.

Actually he replied me and he’s still selling them. The prices are slightly lower. Too bad he has only VTC6, I wanted a VTC5A.

I ordered my cyan 219CT with cyan 18350 tube and the pocket clip, from Hank at International and got it 20 days later.

Great little light. The clip is fine, but it doesn’t work with the 18350 clip. While I have some good 18350 Aspire/AWT cells, I run the light with the Sony VTC-5a and don’t mind the added length for such a cool light.
