About modes, I learned something new about the fault today.
It works sometimes, when batteries deplete.
When I use full set of Xtars, it hardly ever works.
From Standby to (6), no light, again down to (5), gives light and back to (6) steps up. After this, when I turn it down again to (5), it for some reason stays on (6)...
Really frustrating thing to use, you can access the (6) only through toggling down to 5 and then back again up. Meh...
This sucks to hear all the bad TN31's that has been recently been sent out. I must have gotten lucky and received a good one straight from china (NW version). Hope you all get your issues resolved and props to Calvin @ Illumination Supply for attempting to help.

I hate dispute either. And it all depends on Paypal to decide. Hope it comes out in favour of you.
My TN31 is working fine till now. It is not that it has no issue when it reach me, but all are cosmetic issue. When I receive both my TN31 and TN30, I feels like Thrunite fatory must be very dirty factory. Their flashlights are not clean, there are dirts and finger prints every where. After cleaning, no more issue except TN30 has to be tightened a bit more to avoid flickering issue.
Hey guys,I got in touch with thrunite finally about the reflector problem and they are really giving me the runaround.I sent them 2 pictures,1 with the light on and one with it off.When it's on you can clearly see the coating of film or surface defect and they are asking for more pictures and a detailed description?!!!?I am going to try it again,but I am at the end of my rope with them and about to open a paypal claim.I think the reflector that is a key part of a flashlight should be defect free,am I crazy..........
At least they have answered to your mail. No response here so far. Maybe Paypal helps, maybe not 
I can vouch for Calvin he replied to all of my emails when I ordered mine and asked him to make sure that the reflector was perfect and a smooth rotary ring. It showed up perfect!! Thanks again Calvin!!

Update,Three pictures sent to thrunite of the bad reflector and their last response was "Thanks for your third picture.actually we wanna slove this problem for you,while it seems the flashlight in the third picture is not TN31." This has to be the most ridiculous answer I have got from customer service ever.I think the TN31 bezel and reflector is unique and they can't recognize their own light?really?I may just go for a paypal dispute because they are wasting my time,they even had the nerve to ask if the lens was dirty.
I contacted thrunite with a tn31 issue and was told their rep. would contact me. I knew my light came from Illumination supply and contacted them directly and was issued an rma and to ship light only to them. Calvin e-mailed mr told me what the problem was an he will ship out a new light. He did what he said and shipped me a perfect tn31 with case, holster and lanyard. I couldn’t ask for more, well maybe my shipping cost from thrunite!
My tn31 and t10 arrived from California, both function excellent so far.
In the tn31 is the battery compartment reversible ? I see no markings on which direction it should be orientated.

Yes, the battery carrier is reversible, but not the cells! Some people prefer the 2 spring side facing the front, after I polished and tightened the cental contact, the carrier has not given any issues no matter which side goes first

Update on the dirty reflector problem,after about 17 wasted emails they sent me a message that said"We think the new reflector will be damaged in transit if we just resend new.Can you accept return the TN31 for a new one,and the return shipping will be charged on your side."What a joke,brand new light and I pay shipping for their f&*# up?Thanks to calvin from I.S.for stepping up to the plate to help me.Thrunite is useless with the nonsensical,rubbish messages they send to you,should have a fluent rep. to speak to.Probably the last thrunite product for me,even though I love the TN31.
Wanted to buy this bundle but after reading all your posts , I’m afraid that they will send one or two defective flashlight to me too. Now it’s kinda obvious why they offer such a discount.
Feels like Thrunite have good R&D, but worst production.
It is not like buying Fenix or Olight flashlight, it is like gambling. Too bad their design is very good. I just found last night TN30 can throw quite far either, not just TN31.
