【TS10V3 prototype】Should we continue with the TS10 series~

Im pretty sure they mean Triple:

3 Thanks

I am curious about that too. I prefer a triple myself. At least, for the things do with the TS10. But the conversation here has gone back and orth on the configuration

Plus they don’t show the emitters in any of the pics/renderings.

3 Thanks

Yeah, I was tempted to mention that. It would be great to fix that too, though I find it less important than fixing the overall clip length and shape.

The difference may be a bit clearer in these pictures:

The HD10 clip had its “arms” bent up at the center to raise the connection above the groove. This square shape of the “shoulders” could catch on fabrics while clipping it onto things.

The TS10 v3 proposed clip has a"tongue" to reduce that problem, but it would be even better if it was shaped like the ZebraLight clip. (“tongue” may be a weird word for it… not sure what to call it)

The ZL clip has nothing to catch on.

Maybe a ramp? Anyway, I see what you mean.

Whatever they decide to do, I really hope that they either ditch the two way clip or often the option for the single way clip.

1 Thank

Great design, in my opinion.

great photo, thanks, clearly shows the raised square that would force me to fiddle to get the clip over a pocket seam.. some enterprising person would probably be able to design a small 3d printed ramp that would press fit into that square notch.

what I do think may be good about the HD10 clip, is the existing length of the blade..

Im guessing the tip of the blade will be long enough to still reach over the collar at the head end, from the new clip position on the TS10 V3 tailcap design..

I’ve had to adjust the “tongue” on every TS10 Clip I’ve received.

Late joiner here.

Amazing how many options are at the table (still):

  • single vs triple
  • FET+linear vs Buck
  • AA vs 14500 vs dual chemistry
  • Aux vs no Aux
  • Emitter(s) — the late Wurkkos comment narrowed it down to 519a apparently

Almost each combination of the above gives distinctively different light. Some of those differences will remain “hidden” while others will affect the light substantially.

Meanwhile, I got the impression that Wurkkos froze at least some of variables already:

  • Buck (14500 only?)
  • 519a tripple

I wonder how best this community could help Wurkkos to land the configuration that will be wanted by… by whom, actually? Who is/are the target audience(s), after all?

1 Thank

yes
The Buck driver only works with 14500,
the TS10 V3 is a Triple, with Aux:

I believe it is the same Buck driver as in the Sofirn Copper SC13, this means the lowest mode on the TS10 V3 will probably be the same, 0.9 lumens:

By “Buck (14500 only?)” I meant: Buck only and no Boost(AA)+Buck(14500).

yes

This is the old silver TS10 clip. On the Wurkkos website is an new BLACK TS10 clip without tongue.

The clips TS10 black vs silver have different shapes
Black TS10 is the top far right clip

1 Thank

Nice. Looks like Wurkkos already has clips with the smooth “don’t catch on fabric” design. (on the right)

It’s way too long, but it has a good shape where the arms meet.

No moonlight? I’m out

Can I say that only one 519A can be placed? :flushed: The bulb cannot be removed from the factory

yes if the TS10SG host is used

The bulb cannot be removed from the factory

I think what you call bulb is what we call the Dome

the 519a Dome does not need to be removed IF the TS10SG (Single LED) host is used. And the TS10SG MCPCB fits the 519a LED

but if you want to use the TS10 host, that uses 3 LEDs, the 519a LED with Dome does not fit under the Optic.. you will need the Hopthink LEDs, because they have no Dome.. And to use the Hopthink LEDs you will need a new MCPCB.. they do not fit on the CSP MPCPB

2 Thanks

Yes i mean the “dome”;
So TS10 V3 will be a 519A LED using a buck driver and a 14500 battery, update new appearance and clip
which will be faster to achieve this year

10 Thanks

I have almost this exact setup but with the stock TS10 SG driver and dedomed 519a emitter. It is one of my favorite carry lights

The honeycomb tube in that render looks great. Could there be a warmer option, even as a special edition for the copper? Such as 3500/3000k.

2 Thanks

Yes, we plan to have 2 color temperature options
