UF-H3 headlamp from DD

Got mine today. Says UF-H3b on the tailcap. Build quality is very good. Same positive observations as above. Put unprotected Ultrafire no rattle. Put protected TF flames and it fits perfectly. I'm not touching the clip either. I can't believe how small it is. Very satisfied for what I paid for it.

Got mine yesterday as well.

For what i paid for it, is ok but as stated before while taking off the clip the dreaded "snap" got me.

lol But i could care less about that as this was bought for headlight usage. Thought it would have been brighter but all is good otherwise.

Mine came Wednesday but got them yesterday at work. Went to paypal and discovered I over paid and was some how charged $27.55 each(?). It sucks when the "group buy" discount is higher than the everyone 20% price and then find DD pulled a trick! All I have to say is hope the two $5.35 UF502/bat/charger deal goes good. I have some dino credit to use on some future purchase. Hate to say it but I've been "Trick F~«ked" by a dinosaur.

How did that happen? Care to tell us so others will not make the same mistake.

I got two of them but one something black on the inside of the lens. Casts a shadow when in use, Any trick

to taking it apart to clean?

Compressed air gun or duster maybe(?).

I want a credit of $4.26 (2@$2.13) refunded. I remember item specific discount coupons can only be used for one item at a time. If you want two you have to order separately.

Well, I was really excited about this light and ordered one about two weeks ago. I got an email today that they are out of stock and I can have credit or refund. I really just wanted the light but as it's not an option, I decided for a refund. I clicked the link in the email I recieved to start the process and it was a dead link. Tried live chat and it didn't work. Went to Dino website and order is not listed (although I was charged for the light) in my account to open a ticket on.

I'm sure I will figure it out eventually, but they really don't make it easy to get your refund. I really just want the light so it's a shame.

Sean

Same here! I just got the "Out of stock" mail as well, and I was really looking forward to that light But if it's sold out, it's sold out!

Hmmm, if it's sold out, how come you can still order it? Maybe it's just "out of stock" because of the 20% discount code? ... Naaah! that would be a crazy thought

Oh well, I guess I'll have to get it from another store then.

Hopefully I'll at least get my money back from DD without any trouble.

Summer said they'd have another 20% off coupon code in a few days. If I were you, I'd ask for a refund (they will probably offer you a gift card, which I found acceptable, but you should be aware that you can only use one gift card per order), make sure the price didn't go up in the meantime and then re-order with 20% off.

The 20% will come on friday (Black Friday).

Hi all

I finally got my UF H3 headlamp and am looking forward to breaking it in tonight on a canoe cruz around the lake. It took me a second to figure out the ramping UI, but not too tough. Everything about the light feels fit and smooth and I love the magnetic base.

The brightness of the light was less than I was expecting, but maybe I was expecting too much in the way of brightness. I was thinking it might be similar in brightness to my Tomtop SK 68 with a 14500 battery, but it is quite a bit dimmer than that at its highest setting. Has that been everyone elses experience. For close up work, I imagine it will be great, but I wish it had just a touch more throwy brightness. I guess the big draw of this light is its runtime.

One other item I had a quaestion about is the headband. I am not sure if I am putting it in right. It seems like I have to put the band way back on my head to get the light to shine wear I want it. Maybe I have it on wrong or something. Anyone got a photo of this light being worn, so I can see.

All in all I think I will like this light and am looking forward to the trial run this evening. Thanks.

I received a UF-H3B from DD around 3 weeks ago, but unfortunately the reliability has been going down and down. I can sometimes get it to turn on by screwing and unscrewing the tail cap a bunch of times, but it seems if I leave it off for a few minutes or slap the light with the palm of my hand it will turn off and not relight without unscrewing/screwing the tail cap before. I've tried foil like in the other thread but it doesn't seem to help. Any suggestions?

Also, is anyones tailcap screw loose. Mine seems like it's attached to the magnet and I can twist it round seemingly to infinity.

How are you turning it on? Are you pushing the top clickie for about half a second and then release?

I had a bit of an issue with that on mine too. This is what I did to fix it.

Disassemble the tail cap with a pair of c-clip pliers

Put the magnet back in the bottom

Put a piece of iron/magnetic steel under the tail cap to keep the magnet in position

Reassemble, making sure the switch assembly is centered before tightening.

Mine has been fine since I did this. I think that the tailcap was just not tightened enough when they were assembled.

Good Luck

The loose switch is your problem. Tighten it (use a small amount of loctite) if necessary

Thank you all so much for all the replies. Unfortunately, I don't have any 'locite' (if that is a generic term for thread tightener) but I managed to get it consistently working by tightening the switch which did indeed come too loose. I may need to purchase some as I've noticed it starts to loosen a bit everytime I unscrew the cap. Thanks again to everyone for helping save a flashlight.
