I am fine with a group buy on a factory xml2 model or xpg2 model and a suitable driver option and maybe one or two tint options. Nothing crazy. I can dedome myself.
Heck, I am fine with a group buy on the light the way it is now and I’ll throw the parts that I want into it. I just want the host when it comes down to it.
True. The other option is to see if they would offer a host kit or something along those lines. If not, it doesn’t take much work to desolder the mcpcb and dedome the emitter. Imagine a group buy on a domed (preferably dedomed) XP-g2 on a copper maxtoch with a 4-5a 3-mode driver with AR lens. That’s pretty much what my 1405 is being turned into when it arrives minus the AR lens.

I would, but I work out of town too much to reliably be near a computer (especially one with a functioning source of broadband).
I also haven’t frequented the site for the past year or more and am just getting back into dabbling with modding lights again so I am not too familiar with the process involved in running a smooth group buy as it seems some have been doing here.
Out of interest, I sent a request to Fasttech to stock the 1504. Their response:

As I contacted Shenzhen Homesafety customer service earlier, they told me that they won’t start producing the 1504 until there are retailers (such as FT, BG…) placing high quantity order with them. If this is the case ordering directly from Shenzhen Homesafety is not possible since they don’t even have the stock of this light yet.
Maybe somebody can request Banggood to list this 1504 in their website. I find that Banggood is quite fast in listing new flashlights.
What would be awesome is if we could get a host kit with the long tube and short tube.
1503 looks more balance in ratio with the shorten tube. I will stock up a few if they are out

I would like two of the 1504 myself as long as they are reasonably priced. Would like to keep one stock, and one as a host kit preferably. Dont have a UV light right now. Dont have a need for one really, but hey, I dont have a need for a 2w laser either 
If I were willing to order 40 of these as host kits with an AR coated lens (the 1504) would everyone feel comfortable buying them from me here on the forum? I’d have to mark them up slightly to be able to justify laying out a grand or more, otherwise my less flashlight obsessed wife would likely kill the idea as a waste of time.
Personally I’m excited for these, it looks like there is interest from others. It seems like the main problem is the lack of a single large sale to get the ball rolling.
Depending on the final price. The price listed is $18-20 a piece, but I have found that the prices listed on alibaba are less than honest, and they tend to want top dollar for shipping
Is there anyway to get the tube from the 1405 included. That way people can switch from 1405 to 1504 as needed? Assuming that’s the only difference between the two.
The size and style of UF-T 20 or UF 1407 but with a 26650 tube will be a dream. Too bad that something like that is not available.

Removing the battery tube from the head requires removal of the pill on 1405’s. Not exactly a quick change deal. If I do it, I could check into extension tubes perhaps.
the JAX z1 & send nits B-650 are good flashlights with 26650
Or perhaps just machine off the flange on the pill so the head stays together and make the whole thing quicker to disassemble. Still seems inelegant compared to keeping the head sealed up and using an extension. (less opportunity to get crud on your LED and inside of the lens)
I’d order two if you did this (as long as you would be willing to ship to Canada of course).
Perhaps we should open a new thread dedicated to the 1504 and gauge more interest?
