Nope I have four 504Bs already and I like to make my own drop ins. I caught the neutral tint bug. It is a really good price, but after all the aggravation I went through with the C1 I don't plan on buying any more Ultrafire products from DD.
I think you are correct, the led from my C1 from DD is not centered, bad machining all over, useless clip, the beam is ringy. I order a ultrafire C8 as well, and i think it is also a knock-off, the bezel won't screw all the way in.
I haven't receive mine yet (in fact, it hasn't even shipped) but I did get the "Kingston UF-2100" I ordered a while ago and that one appears to be identical to the "Uniquefire UF2100" (ie. before it said Kingston) I got from DD a few weeks ago.
If anyone receives this light.. please do a little review, and give the link in this thread. Even I havent ordered it, im still curious how well this performs..
I ordered one. Even as a parts light it's worth it. Im sure it will be just fine though. My UF2100 shipped from DD the day after I ordered it, hope this one does as well.
The older 504B is 100% interchangeable with Solarforce parts - it is basically a very accurate L2 clone. The newer, more rounded one is not so interchangeable. Though just about every P60 host's head will swap onto just about every other P60 host's body. The one in the advert is the older style. Which is better IMO than the newer one.
Not a full review, but it will say that my sample pulls 2.2a @ the tailcap with HIMax 18650.
The hotspot is donut holed.
Angry not very bright (for an XM-L) heavy blue almost purple tint.
The body not surprisingly unlubed, but with glue splatter at the head area.
It is what it is, it is an XM-L emitter but this one lacks. at this price I went into it knowing there was risk. It does work and it is an XM-L The 504 body was not scarred to the the point of not being cleaned up and made right.
Emitter is another issue tho, it's seems its on its way out. This is still in litigation tho so I will leave it at that.
It is a 504b body, that is well but emitter is questionable in MY sample..
I also received mine today...I'd guess there's either a wide variation in samples or you have a bad one. Mine is pulling 2.67a from a mostly-charged flame. No donut hole here, but the tint is a little odd...like other XM-L's I have...warmish hotspot, cool spill. Awesome host, this is my second 504B...for $12, this might be the best bargain for me so far. I hope yours gets handled properly.
