Well, I canceled my order. I’ll gladly pay $15 more for the Eagle Eye knowing I can get replacement parts. Plus it’s lighter than the L6 and S70 and you can turn it on and off with the side switch. It’s like the good old days of the 2 cell D battery Maglights I’ve carried for years in my back pocket for work. Only 50 times brighter! Lol
I’m not worried about Thorfire, they will sell tons of the new S70s.

I read this that on March 2nd it went on a plane to the UK so shouldn”t be long before it is in my hands.
The thing that puts me off the Eagle Eye is the lightness.
I just wonder how well it will handle the heat produced by 4000 lumens, same as the Thorfire, when it is 240 grammes or 8.5 ounces lighter ?
Being half a pound less it has a lot less mass & it is not like it has a bigger head with more cooling fins, in fact I think that the head is smaller as well ?
Yeah, the head is smaller and lighter. It will probably get hotter in a shorter amount of time. I rarely use my L6 for more than 30 secs at a time so heat has never been an issue for me. The lighter weight of the X9 will be nice for me. The S70 and L6 are probably the better choice for those who need long run times on turbo.
Competition is good, it’s possible Thorfire knew EE was releasing their X9 so they released their update S70s shortly before at a reduced price. Lol
Hi all, Just got an update on tracking…light was supposed to be delivered today…it was…to someone in Virginia about 150 miles away from me! USPS just says they delivered to correct address on package…Been through this with them just a month ago over a couple of pocketknives that were delivered to Ohio about 300 miles away from me. Knives were from DHGate who only had my correct address, same as this package thru Aliexpress. I know that Ima4wheeler had the same problem as me last month & we both got refunded after Ali seller didn’t respond to inquiries. Anyone else having this “wrong address but we delivered it” problem?
Mine arrived in Flushing NY ISC today. I should get my s70s this week. Not too shabby delivery time.
JUST GOT MINE! Beam shots to come after dark. (Just got my S2 xpl-hi) will compare with it.

Tail switch puts light into standby mode. (switch illuminated)
From standby-
Short click turns light on, short clicks after cycle through modes. Has mode memory. Long press to turn light off.
Double click- strobe. Short click to go back to previous mode, or off.
Long press takes you to moonlight, short click to go back to standby (light off)
Some commentary of what your doing in the video would help.
So when you first turn it on at the rear switch it goes into a standby mode?
Long press for low?
Short press to turn on in last memorized mode?
Then short presses to cycle through the levels.
Long press again to go back to standby?
This is very different from the old model.
Does it always turn on in standby?

We finally have some test info on the new S70s. It’s output shows to be right about the same as a stock L6. So it looks like only the output specs were changed to a more accurate number. Actual output stays the same.
I kind of suspected that as 3,800-4,000 lumen is pretty impressive for a stock light.
By the rough eyeball comparison:
Low is far, far brighter than 65 lumens, like 200 lumens.
Mid is far, far brighter than 320 lumens, like 1000 lumens.
Yes, I noticed the mode spacing seemed tight, unlike the L6.

Lux numbers:
S70s - 1, 28, 90, 255, 330
L6 - 2, 15, 124, 325? (hard to see)
So it seems Thorfire made high mode very close to turbo and then med and low are spaced further apart. Maybe they did that because it’s supposed to have a 5th moonlight mode.
