I’m not sure about a two-26650, but the tube i modded this one can be used with one 26650, and it threads directly to the DST head without any mods.

I was fortunate to grab one of the F13’s from OL’s GB that fit perfectly as well, but now I want to upgrade to an XHP and I don’t want to go the 18350 route.
its why my test-mule DST has been testing tons of emitters with either a 20R samsung 18650 or 25650. Right now a dedomed XP-G2 ( and close second the XP-L HI ) is throwing a beam the farthest at 5 amps. its easily seen now past a kilometer distant. My original plan for the Quad DST monster thrower is to surpass a mile, or reach up to 2 kilometers throw to knock the Deft-X off its throne for throw from a reflector-based light. it will be big, heavy, emit a lot of heat, suck a lot of amps, but it will be built for one purpose.

Yeah, but that doesn’t really help me any. It’s starting to sound like I’ll have to do 2S 18650 in the original tube. I was hoping to shorten it up a bit.

You want to use a tiny tube but not the tiny cells that fit in it? Sounds like you want a ZY-T08 converted to 2s, or else should have bought O-L's modified Ultrafire 1226.

I actually was considering a T08, but again, that’s not 26650’s. I also considered modding a 1226, but OL himself said it wasn’t a good heatsink design. Plus, I already have a DST just sitting here collecting dust.
I have a 2 x 26650 tube with tail clicky that fits my personal DST, but the light it came from is no longer available. None of my other battery tubes will interchange. :_( If we can find another light with separate extension tubes available, it would be interesting to see how the DST reflector would focus an XHP30 running 4 x 26650. I just bought 5 more DST’s on ebay to play with.
Can everyone please check all of their 2 x 26650 lights to see if another battery tube might fit your DST?
I can only assume somebody checked the yezl y3 tubes long ago.
Sorry if I misread, seemed as though you wanted to use the F13 tube but not the small cells. Has anyone tried this one?

EDIT: But now I remember, that I think i tried 26650 in that tube but they didn’t fit (tube too narrow diameter).
I don’t have either of these lights but would the UF1405 work for you guys?

That is the same light I am using for my 2 x 26650 DST battery tube, and it screws down all the way on the head. Mine was purchased from meritline.com but they no longer carry it.
That may be my best bet then. They are still available under a few names on Ali. “Goread Y45” is one. Some people have said that one works, other people said it didn’t for them
