Checked out my local Home Depot store this morning and low and behold there's a new Defiant light in town! This was located up front in the seasonal deals area and there was an entire display of them. Of course I grabbed one! Only $22.97. These must have just come in stock because I was there last week and didn't see them. I'm at work now, so I haven't been able to even take it out of the package yet, but I measured approx. 64mm across the bezel (I measured 2 1/2 inches and converted). It also has a very deep reflector, fins behind the head, and side switch. I'm 99% certain it's an XM-L emitter. I expect it will need a driver swap, but it should be a heck of a thrower!

So RUN NOW to your local Home Depot!!! (Those outside the US, or not near a Home Depot store, I apologize.)
Nice find! I passed on the first Defiant XM-L but this one has piqued my interest.
45 kCd and only 500 lumens from an underdriven XM-L throws a red flag, though. That’s likely to be physically impossible to have those kind of numbers with only a 5.6 cm (guessing) diameter reflector. Regardless it looks like a great host!
Just read and looked again, it appears the bezel inside edge is 2.5”. Cool.
This thing is huge. Good sized reflector, I believe 57mm wide, I think at least 65mm deep. Comes apart in 3 pieces, aluminum threaded pill, plastic isolation disk, definitely XM-L. Has a nice hot spot, one brightness level. That's all I can do from here, I'm sure Garry will post some pics later.
You can handle it Garry! It is very easy to disassemble. I know you will beat me to it as I'm Central time and can't look at it tonight until at least 7pm CST.
