I really liked the fact that the battery cap is easily removable with a screw, which makes the flashlight very easy to maintain and allows for a battery replacement if needed in the future.
I would be interested in buying it already with the intention of doing an emitter swap to a 519A. However, as you mentioned, the LED section is fully press-fit, so I’m not sure how difficult it would be to open it without damaging the flashlight.
For me, something that is always in my pocket for everyday use needs to have high CRI and be a bit more floody, since 90% of the time it would be used indoors or at short distances.
I know that more lumens and higher candela tend to attract a broader audience in general, but you really have everything you need to create a small EDC perfection by adding a 519A to the UV version, preferably 4000K or lower.
For me, it would be even more perfect to have a version without UV, using a dual 519A setup, since I don’t see much use for UV. That would be an instant buy for me, especially at the current Kickstarter price.
But ideally, we should vote to please the majority. A groupbuy sounds like a good idea.
I just realized that the UV version doesn’t have a double-click shortcut to turbo. So yeah… the S12 without UV, with dual 519A emitters, would be perfection for me
In the BLF there are a lot of people who are interested in red lights, too, so maybe keep that in mind to build your UV flashlight with a red LED at some point?
Or one 5700k LED, one 2700K. You already have the driver, just need to adjust the LEDs and have more customers be interested.
Groupbuys for BLF Special Editions would be amazing! Ideally with an overworked version with threaded bezels?
This looks like a nice light. I might carry it if the CRI is high and the ‘K’ is low. I have seen some of your other lights on Amazon.
The K1 is really nice looking!
I have already backed on twitter - but if high CRI version is available I will prefer to have that. If I get the 2 white emitter version I will do my own reflow to swap the emitters to my preference of high CRI. However if you confirmed will do a high CRI version then I will prefer to back that one instead.
