Skilhunt E3a in high CRI flavour. A superb single mode twistie with a stiff o-ring so it’s unlikely you’ll find just a battery tube hanging off your keys.
Olight i3E EOS. Single mode, but maybe too bright for you. The light is real small. I like mine. They claim 90 lumens for 70 minutes. I have never tested it. Perhaps is could be modded for lower output and longer runtime??
The E03 that I have is my choice. I have had one on my keychain for a very long time. But mine must be a later model. It has three levels and a TIR.
They’re not really “small” compared to some of the mentioned lights, but I love my Reylight Pineapple minis. I have three, all aluminum of different colors and emitters. I will get a Ti, copper, or brass one eventually. I converted them to be forward clicky switches.
I do have an Emisar KC1 on my keys. used an i3E EOS before that, and a thrunite Ti3(?) prior. I keep the KC1 because it’s SW45K.
I do agree with OP in that I do wish there were a modern, low-output light with high runtimes. Most keychain-sized lights like these are single mode and around 100lm from what I can recall.
That is brilliant. That means I could set it basically wherever I want output wise. I love the SInkhunt to because its very similar to my E01 in size and it comes in orange (harder to loose).
I just picked up a Sreamlight nano because it has the single mode, long battery life requirements.
Yeah AAA lights are very neglected nowadays, as are small lights with single low mode.
I probably have a fenix like that laying around in my box of old lights.
I recently bought a Manker E02 III. Its a good update to the version II. Lower low mode. It’s not as small and has multiple modes, but it’s the closest thing to your criteria that I can ponder if you don’t mind zebralight style. The plus is it uses a 519A
E01 V2 after quite a few years on my keychain. Still works fine and the head has never fallen off in my pocket. Low is pretty low…and one of the reasons I like it is…as you said, it always come on in the lowest mode.
Is the Pineapple Mini as big as it looks in the pictures? It looks significantly longer than something like the E01, but I don’t see any dimensions in the specifications. Will it run on an Alkaline AAA cell?
Alas, the only affordable ones, the plain AL version, is sold out. I saw the discount and thought about it as I have wanted one of their lights, but the ones that are available are too expensive for me on this class of light… Though they sure are beautiful lights.
I’ve never seen such a small lamp before. This has simply opened up a new world for me. Although this flashlight looks very small, it seems to be able to emit a distant and bright light. I also want to carry such a tiny flashlight with me, so that it will be very practical in an emergency.
Here are some comparisons. I see the D3AA and TS10 in there. Not sure what the other light is. But I think they are all AA/14500 lights other than the Rey. So it is definitely on the longer side for a triple A light. I could see carrying the light, but not on my keychain.
