I had a Rajah 2 for a while, uses were limited to clearing back overgrown footpaths and walloping sticks for a camping cooking stove, but great fun factor. I’ve looked at the Espada XL since, but it’s much more weapon and less useful tool to my eye.
I don’t have a pic but I’ve had my Elementum in Ultem flipper liner lock on board much of the day.
I modified the kydex sheet from a bit more bulky “american” multideployment pancake style to a more subdued “european” size and style that in my opinion fits the elegant knife better, I hope Böker takes notice . What I did was cutting away the outside part of the kydex material+ the eyelets, drilled 2.5mm holes and saddle-stitched with 1.3mm (Luxaflex) chord. The knife now fits easily loose in my front pocket, I hardly notice it is there. With sheet it has almost exactly the weight of my mini-bugout (43 gr).
Caly 3 was the first knife I spent proper money on. I’d had a couple from the Byrd range and a Tenacious which all turned out to be brilliant work knives. The Tenacious is still a brilliant daily for woodland lunchtimes.
That Caly 3 has a hint of exotic mystique to it, fabulous thing, epitomizes Spyderco I think. The money I spent correlated perfectly with the amount of damage I managed to inflict on myself with it. Took the back off 2 fingers trying to strip a blister pack off a polesaw blade. I looked at my ring and little finger and wondered why they were so white and not bleeding. Then realised it was the bones, took 5 weeks to heal that injury.
–Modified Bugout - MetonBoss copper scales, black titanium hardware (except the lock bar, which I purposely kept steel so it wouldn’t wear on the spring as quickly) and a black titanium clip from Pops Custom Clips.
The extra weight from the copper scales makes this a really great knife to carry. It was a little too light for my taste with the factory G10 scales.
I found this image online.
This knife has been discontinued for a while.
I got this knife used on eBay.
I really like this knife, except for maybe the red color.
I would prefer a different color, but that’s a minor complaint, and this knife is rare (at a decent price), so I didn’t have much of a choice for color.
The handle looks too much like a cheesy boxcutter, sorry just being honest first take reaction.
Blade looks fine and EDC,d the Kerhshaw Cryo 1555BW for over a year and still carry it couple times a month so like the brand.
The handle is aluminum with Trac-Tec inserts.
It’s really nice, and the red color is honestly no big deal.
No problemo!
EDIT:
I just noticed that my knife is not a “blem” like the one I posted an image of.
Kershaw calls knives that are slightly imperfect “blems”, though I read that most of the time people cannot identify the blemish.
