Started a conversion on a Thrunite TN40S. Rebuilt the carrier to 4P configuration to supply an FET+1 with Anduril. Will swap out the XP-L HI’s for MN1 W2’s.
Got the dirty work of the carrier completed, ready to attack the driver and clean it off in preparation for the piggyback… tomorrow.
Do you have any idea if it’s possible to get hold of the backlit switch and how hard would wiring it in be? I requested my D4SV2 be built with the backlit switch, but alas it arrived with the black switch.
If you bought from Hank send him an email and ask how he can help you. if you want a switch ask Hank or Jlhawaii if they have any available.
change it if the wires are long is not difficult but I have some scratches
Yes, from Hank. Is the switch lit when it’s off - like the Aux lights? That’s what I’m after. (It’s not worth the hassle contacting him/ getting parts if that’s not how it works.)
Hank has said it’s not possible due to hardware/ firmware. I emailed Hank requesting it be done and was told it would be when I ordered it. I guess the request never got actioned.
.
Info from Redit suggests there are 3 different drivers.
just to make sure, is the Linear+FET driver the default driver for single-channel D4SV2’s with all W2’s or does it have to be special ordered?

It is not the default. Unless you specify a driver or lighted switch, you will get the FET+3+1 driver, regardless of your emitter choice (except perhaps 219B’s, they may come with a Linear only driver).
So it can’t be retrofitted as the wrong driver is in it for the backlit switch.
