This is such a a cool, asymmetric configuration! I originally thought you cut off one optic from a Carclo quad, until I saw the legs.
Wonder how the beam is from the mule. I’d worry that a lot of the light might be obstructed by the TIR and the interior surface of the flashlight head.
Yup that’s it! Most have a small hole in the scales here for a pin, the waiter is a low cost model so I assume these are left out for cost reasons.
Readily available online, Victorinox website was quite expensive, I ordered from an outdoor retailer who had good prices (UK) for a Victorinox Compact and a Rambler.
Because I like modding this platform D1/D1K/KR1. Another modded D1K. This time I went with NTG50 1800k and yellow/orange/red aux lights. Looks like fire!
And my usual 2 pictures, wine cellar indoor and wineyard outdoor. The light got crazy throwy not, with a tiny spot, and a much dimmer (but still wide) flood. Quite interesting beam profile overall.
I’m curious, did the foil tape increase the output by a measurable amount, or alter the beam profile? I’m very curious what the losses are like for these giant TIRs.
