Let me try to explain my ordering about 16 lights in one boring weekend.
Well TN31’s are on a great sale. So I went to Thrunite-store. There I saw a TN10 that looked very much like my beloved T30 but the specs sounded much better. A Ti light was also sent as a gift. So I said, “a >$80 light for $50, plus a Ti that I would buy anyway, so this makes the deal half price for me” and bid on TN10. Won. Was sent almost immediately, so I thought this store deserved much to look for.
TN31 was sitting there. That, the strongest thrower I could buy. But I still couldn’t justify to buy such a big fat light so I started looking for a thrower with a slimmer body to play with. I found a SkyRay Thrower with side switch, >60mm head so should be a good thrower for $26. Ordered that also. If throwers were those what I was looking for I said I should get an XRE thrower too, for cheap. I ordered a Jacob A60 from DX.
Now back to TN31. I had had two throwers for $40 but I could have paid $139 for a TN31 too, so I looked around if I needed anything else. TN31 was bıundled with a T10. I checked what T10 was and liked the specs. So T10 was a good light to get. And guess what, it was on sale too. I made an offer on a T10 + Ti combo, and won again for $25. Not bad at all thinking a Ti was $16. Those sales were just insane, so I checked if there were anything else with AA batteries on sale. I saw Neutron 2A’s selling at $30. What??? I had paid more than $65 for a Neutron 1C. So I could swap my 1c Neutral head with this 2A body and have a NW 2AA XML light too, for just $30. Bidded on one. Never thought it would go for $30 so I also made an offer for a second 2A for a bit more. Guess what, Two Neutron 2A’s for the price I paid for my 1C. Now I had an XML AA light too. These 2A’s were powerful but nowhere as powerful as a Jetbeam PA40 or an Olight Baton. So I decided if I could also get a AA powerlight on sale. I found Olight S65 on %18 sale, at FocalPrice. Thought a night, and woke up in the middle. Ordered a S65 at 3:00 AM.
I had powerful lights, throwier lights, small EDC lights, AA lights, tacticals, keyring lights. Buy what about a powerful, 700 lm EDC type, throw in the pocket type one? I checked T21’s and found them a bit on the edge at ~350-400lm with a RCR123 so I decided to get something with 18650. I found Thrunite TN12 for this. Bidded, but, no bidders? Oh got one.
So three bundled Ti’s were on the mail but their colors would be random. So I decided that I needed a golden Ti too. This would be a test to see if they would sell one at $9. I were expecting to have something higher offered and I would refuse to get one. But what? The system automatically accepted my offer @ $9. Oh, I got my golden Ti.
6xAA’s would be powerful and long life but if only I had a 2x26650 light, I could walk for hours in open fields with something like this. So I found a Dongrui light, a thrower with 2x26650 barrel at Tmart. About ~$26 for such a light sounded fairly good. Got one.
A single led XML would give a large amount of light and I had already got 4 lights above 700lm, but none of them would give a light more than 1000lms. I thought I needed a flood light for my Realty Specialist wife to lighten up the dark and empty villas. I found a FandyFire 3x XML, single mode 4x18650 light on LightsCastle (LightCastles??) for $35. Looked like a good buy and this one had 4 cells for extended runtime. Got one.
As you see, I can justify a nice set of lights. But there I saw an EagleTac T20C2 MKII, with a spare NW drop-in at a good price from a fellow BLFer. Now, that could be fate, a sign. Ordered, what could I do.
Wife’s gonna kill me. But I plan to give my colorful Ti’s to her as keychains to every sold villa. And she’s got a 4x18650 sized baton now to hit me. What could I do more for her?
Still, couldn’t get TN31. Because I just could’t justify such a big light
