My absolute favorite with no doubts is Sabrett natural casing.
Least favorite is one of the hundreds of supermarket brands that costs 99 cents per pack. Looks like bologna.

This is my favorite…

The Johnsonville Jalapeno Cheddar is delicious, and not that expensive for a premium hot dog, but it’s not super healthy so I don’t eat them very often.
My least favorite is the el cheapo generic (non-flavored) hot dogs.
I am not much into hot dogs. Usually go for brats. But if I buy hot dogs, I get Hebrew National Franks All Beef…Kosher.
Second choice, Nathan’s Skinless or Coney Island. Just harder to find around here.
Sabrett looks quite interesting, but from what I find at $20 to $30 per pound. I am simply not paying that much for hot dogs, no matter how good they are.
Those look good
I love brats but too much fat. Not that hot dogs are much better but at least you dont see it.
Not a fan of hot dogs at all, except the chicken sausages. I really like those. Aidells makes some good ones, the mango jalapeno and apple.
I used to get hot dogs from Top Dog, a hot dog fast food place.
Their gourmet hot dogs are extremely tasty, and if you buy half a dozen at a time and cook them at home, they’re cheaper that way.
They’re more expensive than the Johnsonville hot dogs, though.
I love the Aidells Artichoke and Garlic. Unfortunately they stopped carrying it where I used to get it. They have lots of different kinds at various stores around here. Just not that one…
Seems to be a thin line around here between a sausage and a hot dog. I agree Hebrew National Beef franks being kosher are the only ones I buy.
Dunno if this qualifies as a hotdog. But I like the one Costco sells, Evergood Louisiana Hot Links.
Smith’s natural casing wieners are very good for a basic hot dog. They’re made in this area so I think they are mostly a regional thing, though.
The famous Martinsville red hot dogs don’t sound very appetizing.
Funny, because I just stumbled upon this last week or so.
Shootout among a half-dozen Mystery Meat hotdorgs.
They tested them cold out of the package (ew!) as well as cooked/fried. Also went over the ingredients, “nutritional” info, etc.
Haven’t tried most of the others, but I do agree with Oscar Dogs being the best in flavor. Well seasoned, decent texture. When I get the hankerin’, I boil 'em, drain the pot, cut 'em up (nothing fancy, just with a fork), and glop in a can of beans, then heat the whole mess.
Protein on top of protein, sticks to yer ribs for quite a while!
Yeah, I used to be able to get the 2lb(?) package of Sabrett’s at a pretty good price, but not for quite a while. Nice “snap” to 'em, too.
Those look interesting
Also one of my favorites is the Sam’s Club Members Mark .
I guess my favorite hot dog is sausage
Around Buffalo, the only hot dogs anyone eats are Sahlen’s. And the only way to eat them are cooked well done on a grill. Grill until the skin starts to turn black and then top with Weber’s mustard.
Wow, since 1869. I can just picture the Union army celebrating victory while eating these hot dogs.
