Off the top of my head, I like the Amazon Deal thread, as well as the AliExpress Super Deals thread.
I also like the Which movie did you watch last thread, and Simonâs Convoy thread. ![]()
Lotta good ones, probably too many to pick.
Deals, Stoopit Questions, Movies, Teevee, etc., which are ironically not flashlight-related.
Dunno if thereâs bias against necrothreads, but I miss people chiming in about, say, dedoming XP-Gs, years after the fact and getting a resurgence in those threads, even if only for a short time.
Well⌠Iâm biased. The âBox of Lightsâ thread allowed me to own the finest light Iâve ever held or seen in person.

At first, I considered the question yet another in a long line of âsilly questionâ threads asked out of boredom and/or recent lack of forum activity. But when actually giving the question some thought, the answer quickly came to mind, which isâŚ
âThe BLF Modding Links Thread. Looking for a mod thatâs been done at BLF? Try here for a link.â
This thread not only provides new and accomplished modders with project ideas and a wealth of techniques from which to learn and further develop oneâs skills, to me the thread also embodies what I find is special about BLF, and which separates it from CPF and Reddit as a resource about illumination products.
right nowâŚthis one.

to check out.
Hands-down the âWhat did you mod today?â
thread, I feel a hobby is more than continually amassing stuff by purchasing; the modifications on the thread have a huge range from free or low cost to big projects with custom MCPCBs and or custom firmware - I feel like this is the most accessible part of the hobby, you donât need deep pockets to âkeep upâ with the hobby by purchasing the latest and greatest Hank/ZL/wurkkos light.
The market is fairly saturated with size/format/emitter compared to when I joined the flashlight forums- I feel like modifications of lights still gives that uniqueness that keeps it interesting.
Do you not have drawer-after-drawer full of modding parts youâve purchased but never used? ![]()

Koef3âs LED Tests:
These would be exactly my top 3 pick as well!
Iâve managed to keep it to 1 of those large multi-compartment organisers, LEDs and drivers donât take up that much room, afterall. I need to go through and make a little bit more space/tidy it, but this is the modding box at the moment:
Top row left to right: O-rings, emitters/MCPCBs/TIR optics, more TIR optics and emitters, drivers, clips/lanyard hardware
Second row: misc bits/USB lithium chargers, solder/braid/small tube grease, more soldering wire/solder suckers/tweezers/LED gaskets in the small plastic box
Third row: Roisin flux/small spool of lead solder/more drivers/pocket clips, misc hardware/18650>21700 o rings/USB ASP(?) things, diffusers and mini carabiners, larger diffusers nested/wire cutters, headlamp clips for hard hats
Lowermost row is misc bits Iâve not got space in the compartments for and a couple of AAA hosts.
Nice! Good organization is important but often easier said than done.
