I personally wouldn’t buy an all in one. Same reason I never bought a TV with a VCR built in. If one part fails, that would drive me nuts. My OCD would kick in in a major way.
I still have the 100/140 watt version with the single bulb my dad gave to me in the mid 1960’s. It’s made out of bakelite, not plastic like the newer versions. Still works, but I haven’t used it in years.
Best of the best might be to go with a METCAL station, (I think Oki now). That said, I use the METCAL stuff at work, and at home I just have a cheapie Hakko clone and it works great.
I bought a Aoyue 937+. Been a nice station that uses Hakko T18 tips. The Hakko tips are worth getting, but 4 tips cost as much as the soldering station.
I got a 75 watt variable power from Circuit Specialist (USA company) for $35 and after about a year and a half it has not had a hiccup yet. It looks a lot like a Hakko , but it is their house brand and comes with 30 money back guarantee and a 1 year warranty.
They have tons of testing , soldering equipment , power supplies and tools just to name a bit of it. I have made several orders from them and so far top notch service and quick delivery each time.
A lot of what they have is some good prices and some is more toward the average , but you can spend awhile there just looking at all they do have.
