What you got today

Also got my Pretorian clone today. It’s my first knife (excluding my Swiss Army Knife, which I think every teenage boy owns at some point!)

I got some more flashlight modding essentials—kapton tape, some centering rings, etc. Nothing too exciting.

Though I will say the most interesting stuff came entirely for free from an older friend!

First up, we have the Seiko Gold Bar Clock. It’s in the shape of a gold bar, and it’s an alarm clock. Tacky, but hilarious.

And I also picked up a fantastic Victorinox display piece, much like the one in the video below:

Not in the mail but I got 5 of these from the battery bin at Home Depot (I check it weekly). These are high discharge rate 1500mAh INR’s (smaller cap versions of 25R’s). Came from a Ridgid 18v pack

I haven't gotten much lately but I did get a smal parcel from DX:

Ordered 4/30, Received 6/2. Took ages just to show up in the tracking system via Malaysia Post...

  • Charger Doctor USB power meter: http://www.dx.com/p/305545
  • Ultrafire clip-on Flashlight holster: http://www.dx.com/p/115122 - looks really nice; a bit bulky but will fit all my P60 hosts, and open at the bottom, so it will hold the longer 50xD and 50xD sized hosts.
  • Cheapy 18650 -> USB power bank: http://www.dx.com/p/264001 - Very small, even my shortest unprotected Flat-top Sanyo LT pulls are a tight fit, but that's what I wanted... Seems to work well enough, should be good for powering low-draw devices like my mini USB speakers and the MINI-type LED lights.
  • A pair of 5630-based "Festoon" lights for my truck: http://www.dx.com/p/295449 - I've purchased several different LED bulbs to replace the dome light in my pickup and these are the brightest by far that I've found.
  • A small 3-LED non-touch non-ramping version of the MINI: http://www.dx.com/p/300150 - Seems okay... Not quite as bright as the mini, but very simple; combined with the mini USB power bank I mentioned above, would make a nice long-run-time emergency light for power outages.

Unrelated to flashlights, but I also got a small "Sample" sized pack of 100x 38/357 caliber gas checks for making my own rat-shot shells. The commercially available shot cartridges won't fit my .38 spl derringer so I have to make my own...

eax, sr52, sr51

how much was SR52 and which one do you like more 52 or 51?

Yesterday I got my second Yezl T9 from AliExpress. It is the best flashlight I have ever bought, because it works well and is beautiful. I will change the lens. See my recent posts in Review: YEZL T9 "Flood to Throw" Zooming XML Light.

These eneloops pro from the group buy came in today. Thanks Marco! Also a few KP cells from BG. Thanks to them and customs too.

Aww yiss…

My TrustFire TR-S700 arrived from FASTTECH today, just charged up some 26650’s and took it out for a test. First impressions are that it’s HUGE and extremely bright, definitely my brightest light by a long way. Johnny Mac tested one of these at 3578 lumens OTF and I have no reason to doubt that, this thing ROCKS! I’ll try to get some beamshots (with my TRJ-12 and UF-T90 for comparison) on the weekend and maybe even post a mini reveiw.

The price of coffee is supposed to skyrocket, so I bought a little extra today :) $9.99 each at Costco.

how long will this supply last?

Not sure. Maybe 8 months, maybe longer?? I'll put a date on the next one I open, then I'll know for sure.

I can just see it now, BLF coffee group buy

Got my first SST-90 today (2 more are on route). Immediately went to work converting it to direct copper bond.

Still got a little sanding to do but in a 2 minute bench test at 9A it performed great, with no blue shift or visible sag

If your wondering they’re going in a TR-3T6 I’m giving to my buddy as a replacement for his TK70 that was stolen from his truck the other week.

From what are you going to squeeze 27A and what driver can do that?

I have a 26mm OSHPark board designed for me by WarHawk and will be mounting a Zener modded BLF17DD on that. It’ll be 3s only with the emitters in series, I have the pill being modded, the emitter shelf is being turned off and the entire I.D. of the pill is being widened .04” to take a almost 200g 1” Ø copper slug with only the bare minimum amount of material machined out for the driver compartment. (He’s the one the light is for, he’s got no idea it’s for him, he’s doing the same thing to a pill from a 9XT6 but for a 1.5” Ø piece of copper).

Let us know before you test it out

Please do post a review on this!! I’d really love a full review

This is going to be on the reserve for a while until I can justify the cost but I have been admiring this light for the past while.

good point, why do our group buys have to be flashlights

IM IN!!!
