I’d like to know how it works out for you. I’m looking for a soldering station. Thought about a digital xtronic, or the digital blue and yellow hakko.

For minor hobby work, I’d recommend that you pick up the 936 model from HobbyKing. http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/\_*24790*\_Soldering_Station_with_Adjustable_Heat_Range_with_US_Plug.html

The 936 is basically the same as the 936B with a slightly different switch/panel lights configuration.

I couldn’t order the 936 from HobbyKing because of the prohibitive shipping costs to Hawaii.

I can’t find much information on it, but to say it’s appealing is an understatement. Carbon fiber handle, machined iron stand, and the form factor is tiny. Cheap Solder Stations?

I have been researching solder stations for a few days now and I want some suggestions. Some of the main ones I see are the Weller WES51 ($95), the Hakko FX888D ($95), and a Hakko clone (~$27). What is everyone running here? I saw a few threads but they were a couple years old and wanted some up to date info if possible.
