Have you tried the SMO? Did you not like it?

Bro that shot is go juss.

1 Thank

I’m not a SMO fan  Just for comparison, my m21a OP sft40 vs L21B SMO sft40 at the same spot:

4 Thanks

That’s not really a fair comparison though. The shot with the orange peel has a lot more ambient light happening (or different exposure settings.)

2 Thanks

Yes the M21a was shot on a cloudy night and the L21b in a black clear sky but side by side the spill of the L21b is still underwhelming.

Another NLD!
FFL X1S Pharos with TIR and FFL5009R 5000k
I’ve had the X4Q for a few months and really like it.

Wanted to get one more before tariffs. So I ended up with the X1S. I like it!

The emitter is very neutral, though it doesn’t have the CRI that I’m accustomed to with FFL’s. I still need to measure it on the Opple. I’ll get to that soon enough. That button click feels very good. And the new black button looks awesome!!! Though, the center dot is no longer RGB. It’s just blue. It looks good and goes with the color of the body very well. But I do prefer the RGB.

A couple of observations about those two pictures. The second picture appears to have been taken from a much greater distance and we’re not looking at the same point on the wall.
If the goal is to see the wall then you don’t need or want spill. Or at least certainly not a bright spill. If the goal is to light up the area between you and the wall then obviously a wider and brighter spill is going to be useful but you won’t see as much detail on that wall if you needed to.
The obvious solution is to carry both.

Bro’s going to be clanking around like a final boss, lol…

Yes, and different sized reflectors on both too. With the larger reflector being used as the smooth example for too narrow a beam. And that pic appears to be taken over a slight hollow in the ground- so there’s no light in the shadowed hollow.

I received a new CPAP machine yesterday, along with a new mask and other accessories.
Now I’m going to hook it all up, and tonight I plan to use my new machine.
I have the ResMed AirSense 11 Autoset, which is a very popular model.
Maybe I’ll sleep better with this new machine?

Acebeam H17 2.0 MAO 4000K

Tint is very green, greener than LH351D/B. No longer have a SST-20, but looks like those LEDs have a similar greeness.

2 Thanks

What a shame…that light looks awesome. Get some zircon filters from @Boaz maybe?

The truth about the minus green filter is … a #Z3
Cleans up the worst LH351D s or the SST20 4000k that ended up cri but green tint .
I actually like these emitters because they are high cri so once you fix the tint , everything is copacetic.
Even and especially important is the fact
that a #Z2 minus green filter makes the Ts10 , the HD10, both 4000k and 6000k better too . It makes Nichia 519A better too .
Hard to believe it’s that simple to improve so many lights so easily .

Skilhunt H300R arrived 7 days after ordering from official site. Note Constant Current, NoPWM:

H300R outputs on my meter:

LiIon: Turbo: 1560 lm, High 575 lm
CR123a: Turbo: 830 lm, High 375 lm

High Mode on CR123a is 65% as bright as with LiIon. I dont recommend using Turbo.

Sweet, side switch beats top switch all day.

**that cri could use some work though…

1 Thank

Im really torn
its for a friend that skiis at night… I thought throw would trump cri for his application

course now Im tempted to buy the High CRI version to compare…

1 Thank

It’s for a friend, then it’s your friend’s problem…:upside_down_face:

Lol I’m just kidding, but unless your friend falls into the woods or something, higher CRI won’t really be beneficial unless it’s also intended to be for general use…

agree

its specifically for night skiing and the throw is 47% farther, w the low cri

another difference is the High CRI version, that I would prefer, uses a pebbled Tir… which I like for general use…

but I thought a hotspot and maximum throw would be most appropriate for skiing

Im tempted to buy the H300 and compare

No! You already have a floody angled light!
