What's the weather like in your lockdown country?

It’s 30° C with 46% humidity today. It will be around 23° C tonight at 10 PM! That means not that cool for sleeping tonight.
At least it’s not 40° or so like a few weeks ago. :disappointed: Man, stepping outside at around 9 PM was like putting your face in front of a hairdryer! One town called Lytton broke the record at 49.6° C! Unfortunately, the next day or so the town burned down. :open_mouth:

EXTREMELY dry. We’ve been facing humidity varying between 26% and 11%, and it has dropped as low as 8%. For those not in the know, this is drier than most hot deserts.

Been running my house’s swamp coolers around the clock and keeping a death grip on a water bottle. It’s all we can do.

We like the summers to be dry here.

It's miserable when it's hot and muggy.

I like summer where I live. It rains a lot and there’s constant wind, and savannas like my dear Cerrado are too thirsty for any sort of precipitation to let water pool. Muggy days are rare as a result.

(Even when they are a thing, I don’t complain. A 36 degree week with 80%+ humidity will not give you respiratory issues, make your nose bleed or aggravate your chronic sinusitis.)

But right now, it’s “winter” in South America. And where I live the polar air masses that blow into the continent pool up, stagnate, heat up from sunlight and feed into a high-pressure system that becomes an atmospheric blockade. So it’s cold for like, 3 months, and within a week of the season’s last cold front it’s horrendously dry and hot enough to make summertime feel mild. Whenever we get a night below 20ºC in August, it’s all but a historical event.

ADDENDUM: Our structures are designed for maximum ventilation and heat transfer. This makes high humidity weather very bearable.

69 F, mostly cloudy, 40% chance of rain. 41% humidity. We could use rain. So far this year we're ahead of last year but still in an overall deficit position. 9.4" so far this year.

We are on the edge of hurricane Henri. Just rain, no wind.

Palm Springs, where the weather records are kept around here, on average gets 5.5" of rain.

Since last October, we have been 2.9" shy of average, so we need more rain as well.

Roasting hot in the American Midwest. Stupid global warming

It’s August here in NC. Air you can wear. Just had a rain shower so it cooled off to just above miserable and the 78% humidity went up.

Woah +78% humidity! Must be sweating just sitting on a chair. Sticky and icky hehe.

That's weird, Astronomical Chart for the start of Fall is Sept 22 but if looking at the Meteorological Chart, the start of Fall says Sept 1!

Oh yeah. Went out to let the doggies do their business and my glasses instantly fogged over. Miserable!

I was just checking out the map of NC humidity and man some places go to 100%!! Damm that's like being in the jungles of Borneo or something. I hope you're wearing shorts for the next little while!

Yes sometimes less. Lol can’t take off enough to keep cool

That 5% must be a computer error.

I don't see how the humidity could be 5% right near the Atlantic Ocean in North Carolina in August.

It’s probably accurate. Readings after rain showers can be ridiculous. The evaporation from road and parking lots makes steam baths

It’s because of the ocean currents. Like Los Angeles is humid but a lot drier. That’s because they get the cold ocean currents coming from the north and it evaporates harder and therefore less humidity. NC is more humid because the east coast gets warmer currents coming from the south where it evaporates easier and therefore more humidity.

You two really think a 5% would be surrounded by 83%'s, 88%'s, and 100%'s?

Sorry, but that's not how reality works.

5% R.H. is BONE DRY.

83% R.H. is SOPPING WET.

Please don't give me that garbage.

5% humidity… man that’s drier than beef jerky sitting out in the sun! I’m pretty sure it’s right. It might be because that area is like a desert? Oh, that point is at a place there called “Stumpy Point”.

If I ever go visit NC during the humid summer months, I know where I’m gonna go first! :sunglasses:
