WildTrail WT90 - SBT90.2 1800m+ throw 90mm 3x 21700 With Texas_Ace driver

awesome to hear. I'm curious what batteries other people are running in theirs?

It looks so good, I'd make it front and center in a showcase of my lights, no doubt. But it works as good as it looks, so it shouldn't be in a showcase. Hhmm, guess I need at least two

Received mine today. So far it seems great! Build quality exceeded my expectations and no ’afterglow’ on mine.

aweeome to hear some have no afterglow!

Man, what I'd pay for a "cream" colored K1. I was so dumb when those were on the site. I thought I'd never buy a thrower like that (osram, small spill). Now I have 3 k1's lol. And so many osram lights.

On second look I actually do have the glow, it is VERY hard to see in a pitch black room. Doesn’t bother me at all, especially because I lockout lights when not in use.

Yep mine is an Osram W1, poor man’s LEP! How long has it been since Hank has had the Cream? Has he said if it is coming back?

Yea! i couldnt see my WT90 glow at first either, in a moderately lit room its invisible, but in pitch black i can see it. i couldnt care less, i love the WT90. my favorite thrower by far!

The last time i remember seeing the cream was about a month (Maybe?) or so before green was released, which we could look to hanks thread here to see when that was. probably last fall? he hasnt said anything about rereleasing it, i wish he would! i feel like he is one oof the few mfg with white colored lights!

When I saw your original comment about no afterglow, I was gonna tell to just wait and you’ll see it. But it took me to long to come back and tell you. As soon as I saw you cross out you original comment, I knew my window had closed

lol, i was thinking the same thing. it is what it is, i still recommend this light to people

Just an update:
I checked for the «warm and cozy glow», and YES it is there… !! :+1:
But it is so weak so it doesn’t bother me.

BUMP, just because I LOVE this light.

so, there was one thing I forgot to mention as a quality I really like with the wt90, and while using it last night I remembered (this has been my light for taking out trash, 200 ft walk lol).

I have the clear ano, and it has a aluminum "silver" bezel (not stainless steel I understand, but still not painted) the beam is excellent! Too many other throwers I own and have owned because I sold because of the outer spill being plagued with severed rings of uneven light.

This light does not have that problem!

I was using my k1 sbt90 last night and it reminded me that, although I love that light, that it has really pronounced rings in the spill. It's a point of contention for me, and I've openly complained about it before on here with other lights that I otherwise really liked, but ended up selling because of the rings in the spill.

the wt90's outer spill area is really really good, there is a very slight "ring", but almost non existent if compared to the stainless steel bezel of say the ft03, or k1 sbt90.

just another strong point in favor of this light!

Mine has arrived!

A couple of days after i placed the order i remembered i’d meant to order some switches at the same time and had forgotten, so i found the switch product page and started to message Wildtrail to ask if i could add them to the order.
Part way through the message a message pops up from Wildtrail asking if i’d like a couple of switches! Had a quick chat about my needs and what was available and they said they’d pop a couple in the order free of charge.
An hour later i got a ‘shipped’ mail, 7 days later i have the torch and the switches!

That’s great customer service in my book and worth a mention.

The switches aren’t for the WT90 in case anyone is wondering, it’s a generic switch with a big spring that allows me to put shorter batteries in my Solarforce P60 hosts. I spotted them when ordering my D80v2s and ordered a couple to try, the order was a request by e-mail at that time and before processing the request Wildtrail contacted me to let me know they wouldn’t fit the D80v2 and offered me the right switches for free. When i explained what they were for they included the ones i wanted still for free.

On another note, anyone else managed to do this?

I used a single Samsung 48G to test the light and this happened when i removed the battery. I thought i was trying to pull the battery down to compress the spring a little when removing the battery but clearly not enough.
I tried it again with another 48G and it is really difficult to get these out without the wrap catching on the raised positive button, i assume it would be the same for the 30T/40Ts but haven’t seen anyone else do this yet. :person_facepalming:

Most likely the wrap was just a tad loose and get caught. You can get replacement wraps from a bunch of places, so it should not be hard to fix thankfully.

Yes, WildTrail has been very good to work with. They listed to suggestions and act on them. There counter arguments / points are always thought out and valid in the context they are thinking. If I insist on something, they go with it without a lot of hassle. Can’t say the same about many other manufactures I have worked with, generally a lot more hassle involved with getting them to do things they don’t want to lol.

Wow! Yea I noticed it was a little tough to remove my 40t without catching it on the brass button too, but I did not have that happen!

I think I will keep the batteries in the carrier at all times and charge them like that. The charging current is 2.3A which is slower than some of my chargers but still fast enough for me.

I finally got mine on Paul McCartney’s Birthday!

It is a very nice light for the Money.I prefer this over TN42vn 90 CFT NW ONLY because of price.WT90 is 1/3 the price of original( when I bought it) TN42…now is selling for $400…I paid an insane $550!

Their output, beam profile are very similar. TN42vn is NW…5500K and ever so slightly warmer.I like the UI,the switch and the Ease of removing the battery carrier better on TN42.

I have 4 X 30Q BT in TN42vn 90.The WT90 I have 3 X P42A.

The Cumulative max run time and their corresponding voltages were almost identical.

TN42-20 min=3.75v
WT90-20 min=3.71V

TN42-25 min.=3.64V
WT90-25 min=3.63V

TN42-30 min=3.52V
WT90-30 min= 3.55V

I believe this is related to Narsil because my FT03 is the same.

If you are going to have an illuminated switch, Why on earth would it be OFF when you are using the light? I am in the dark and the light gets hot….surfing with my thumb to locate the switch when the light is HOT, even cool for that matter, is no fun.

This is Not an EDC thats on your night stand. It is a search light used outside in the dark.

That is my Only negative…the battery carrier is just a few seconds of patience.

Mine does Not have the after glow. That would not have mattered anyway because my three and four cell lights that have carriers are in a pill bottle with silicone packet until they are used again.

Overall a very nice light and a bargain.I just hope it has longevity, dependability and durability.

Leaving for Germany tonight and will not he back until late September.Unlikely to be on here when I am there.

Thanks TA and other responsible contributors. :sunglasses:

Does anyone have recommendations for a carrying case or pouch or anything?

Switch LED OFF while main LED ON -- that was me... Originally it was implemented as an "AUX" LED that could be anything, not just switch LED's. But even with the Q8, didn't hear any complaints about it being OFF, that I recall. A lot of the input of Narsil came from BLF on the Q8 thread.
