That TK76 looks awful familiar? Looks like a Federation cargo ship reworked by the Borg. In some parts of the galaxy the design is considered quite stylish! If your Borg.
Meant the other “you’re”. Learn something on here all the time. Guess I should proof the comment before I hit save, or edit later. Especially after some late night brews! Cheers.
You have to know something about HAIII anodize; it actually transforms base material and is known as “hard anodize”. Unlike HAII and HAI, this is more than a “surface” treatment. The oxidation is into the material, and also “grows the material. Typically, you get 50% penetration and 50% growth in measurements of approximately 1/1000”. If you assembled a pre-anodized X6, you would find it is a very loose fit.
Hard anodize also toughens the surface. I have dulled a lot of lathe tools on HAIII treatments.
aesthetics are irrelevant, form is irrelevant, style is irrelevant, the Borg value efficiency above all else
In addition, you will be assimilated, resistance is futile
I got a S6 from BangGood the other day (nicest of the 18650 tube lights IMHO). After showing the guys at work, I dropped it getting in my car. The aluminum bezel smacked the asphalt. After I knocked the the little bit of asphalt off stuck to the bezel with my thumb nail, I noticed the finish was not scratched. Amazing! One hard finish.
Ahem... 'hard oxygen' is just one of those oddball corrupted translations of 'hard anodized' that makes no sense to anybody. It's not some special finish that only certain lights get that's superior to plain ordinary HAIII.
Hey WarHawk, on that Fenix, at least it wont roll off the night stand. That light is a love it or hate it. I so want to like that light too. I can’t convince myself it is worth it. That look & that price! For me, they don’t go hand in hand.
Not to mention when I get drunk, all those modes are gonna be madness!
The few old stock that are left in 2016 still seem well made, and I still haven’t seen anything else as nice looking and feeling.
Actually, though I can’t find the thread, there were some pictures posted of solid silver lights made by an early form of 3D printing that were the true Figoni and Falaschi flashlights.
